At what point do we get worried about re-signings?

I reckon Dunn'll be getting a three year deal. Otherwise, those numbers seem about right.

Yeah you might be right, the way he's playing there's an strong argument for 3. Also would space our OOC players out a bit I guess.

Spencer? Why?

Ruck depth if nothing else. If we didn't have Spencer we would have been in big trouble during the first month of this season.

Unless we can land someone like Gorringe during the trade period, then I'd expect Spencer to stay.

Fair enough, but I see him as fifth in line behind Jamar, Gawn, Fitz, and King (rookie)

Gibbs and Goldstein are off the market essentially, hope chip follows their lead

As many have stated before I am not really that worried. With the direction and leadership we are all now seeing (and it is not only us, all you have to do is listen to all different forms of footy media) both on and off field, as a playing group I think they are all starting to realize that they are on the verge of something very special. To have gone through such a tumultuous period as a playing group, I really think that the required list would want nothing more than a satisfactory and reasonable contract. I get the feeling that they are now seeing the full potential of what a professionally run MFC can do for them.

As the great Denis Denuto once said in the high court of Australia, "It's the vibe of the thing, your honor". And I think they are all picking up on the vibe!

Roos mentioned last week (Roos views I think) that the club will be doing an audit and review of both coaches and players over this bye period.

IMO this will definitely involve discussing who they want to keep and what value etc. I reckon we'll see some signings happening shortly.

The club has direction and has Roosy until the end of 2016 as senior coach, I hope Chip Tmac and Dunn decide to jump on board in the next few weeks and give us a big lift.

Can't see any of them leaving. They'll all be done towards the back end of the season.

I'd be expecting

Frawley 5 years

McDonald 4 years

Dunn 2 years

Spencer 2 years

Kent 2 years

Riley 2 years

Barry 2 years

Bail 2 years

M. Jones 2 years

Terlich 2 years

Cross 1 year

Also expect Jetta & Georgiou to gain senior promotion at seasons end & Harmes/King offered 2nd years on the rookie list.

I would love to see Daniel Cross sign for 2 years. He is not that old and is supremely fit. He could even do a Fletcher maybe!

And is apparently the fittest AFL player diet and exercise wise.

I'm pretty sure his contract has conditions (that will almost certainly be met) for next year already. No point signing him up for after that yet. If he's still playing the same way he'll get another year.

The issue with Frawley, McDonald and Dunn is it's bad enough if one leaves, it would be horrendous if 2 were to go and we had to rebuild the backline from scratch.

Personally I don't see McDonald going anywhere. He'd have to request a trade and it would get horribly messy. His manager was probably thinking lets wait until the Frawley decision is clearer and the Clark money is freed up and see if we can get a really big deal. Fair enough I guess.

Same with Dunn. He's always been a bit player but he's now a regular player and part of the updated leadership group. He's got a chance to go out at Melbourne as a one club player and life member who finished his career much higher than the start and middle of it. If he moves it could only be for a premiership chance and the odds aren't always that good. You'd have to think that there'd be more job fulfillment staying than risking it.

Not for this year, but judging by this article, Dom Tyson comes out of contract at the end of 2015 (unless the MFC added another year or 2 upon the trade last year)

The club must present a massive package for Tyson and get his signature for 4-5 more years, preferably this year.

Personally I feel that the decision of Roos to commit the extra year as coach and to declare that he is happy to remain with the Club after that in another role, will ensure our ability to re-sign anyone on our list. They would be mad if they didn't see the upside of where the MFC is going!

you get worried about signing up players when you see no light at the end of the tunnel.

ATM we have light,so signing up players wont be a problem.

The club has been set on the right path. And no that does not mean it is all done.

But it is now up to the players to drive the direction. Play well and win games, then people want to join

If a player decides to leave the MFC must pull out all stops to recruit a better player.

I never want to experience the last 7 years again in any sense.
