I actually cannot express how much i love this guy.

I absolutely love watching the way Dom goes about his footy. I will be surprised if at some point Dom isnt an elite AFL player.

Also, i love the fact he's doing all of this. Making the Tyson and Salem trade even sweeter at the moment. I hope the critics start talking about how good Tyson is and promising Salem is.. rather than endlessly talking about Kelly.

Dom in his 3rd year is as good as anyone.

Not hard to see why he went at pick 3 a couple of years back

I wonder if that clueless tool Damian Barratt has watched him play yet? [censored] [censored]

GWS could have taken jesus christ himself at pick 2 and we still win the trade

Dom Tyson and Christian Salem, yes please

Jesus comes from a basketball background, he'll never have the hardness to be a top line AFL player.

He'll be very good, just really needs to clean up his disposal.

Occasional he has a bit of a brain fade with his disposal which I expect he will clean up with a bit more experience; seem to remember someone called Sam Mitchell doing the same early in his career.

At the moment, he reminds me of a poor man's Simon Black, with a touch of Scott Pendlebury. Now I don't expect him to reach the level of either (we are talking about two of the best players this century), but he's playing exactly the way you hope a Top 3 pick would. I'm a big fan.

That goal at the end was class, and a real clutch moment as well.

Love the kid, we have done VERY well out of that deal throwing Salem in as well.

New breed, under a new environment with new coaches and players like Cross and Jones to learn from.

Throw in another highly talented midfielder or two next year from GWS and things start to look pretty exciting...

Give me Sheil and O'Rourke.

Happy days.

This kid puzzles me - never see him get the ball - then look at the stats at the end and he has like 30 touches. Think I might watch the game again - going to watch this kid closely next week.

Best thing is the kid has only played 20 games - not even a full season.

What about the forward line?

But i agree

This year's midfield is like day and night compared to last year's and Tyson is a huge part of that (along with Vince and Cross).

I'm very keen to see what Roos has in mind for the trade table next season.

Viv Michie and Aiden Riley might also join the midfield at some point.

Both look promising

Roos commented at start of season he thought Dom will be a star. Im happy to back his judgement.

Hes getting better by the week.

I see him as a Jobe Watson type, big bodied midfielder with great hands and footy smarts.

Im so rapt we have finally found a few in Tyson , JKH and Salem to compliment Viney Jones Vince and cross.

He's going to be on FC this week, I hope Lyon calls him on it because it was such a short sighted simplistic view he put forward with that trade. Did not actually open his eyes to the bigger picture, just wanted to create more controversy about Melbourne.

His kicking has been a worry, but he had a great day yesterday. He just constantly gets the ball and is taking a heap more marks than I ever expected him to. I have to remind myself that he has played just a handful of games and has suffered a season ending injury early in his career. At this stage he is one of the best young trades/recruits we have done in recent memory.

I see him very much as as a Job Watson type - if he gets anywhere near as good as Watson I will be stoked.

His kicking will surely improve, one can only hope.

But i see him as a mixture of Watson and Pendlebury.

He creates time with the ball, which is vindictive of the way Pendles plays.

As for the times when he gets caught holding the ball, it's usually because there's no one infront of him and therefore he tries to hold it up, but gets caught

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
