Headline that almost spoiled my night

I was surprised that Brock McLean who starred with 36 touches and was named the Northern Blues' best player yesterday wasn't selected to play against us. It probably sums up Carlton's plight that a has been like him is the best they have in reserve. Anyway, it's good to see that other clubs will be under the microscope in the coming week and the crap publicity coming from the vultures in the press is going to be directed at Carlton, Richmond, Brisbane and not us.

I think Malthouse has done the right thing by dropping players that were not performing, the problem was that those left did not perform or step up after their embarrassing loss against the bombers. The blues kicked themselves out of the game with poor goal kicking. Mcclean getting touches in the vfl is an after the fact stat, what did he do the weeks before to see him in the reserves in the first place.

The PC thought control police have excelled themselves here :-)))

malthouse may have split them, hard nuts & softer nut, dropped the harder nuts, & exposed the softer nuts to the pressure & humiliation to send a message ?

I don't think MM has been accepted the the royal Navy Blues... they think his chitt stinks it up too much. he seems on the outer. & they are all suffering.

its not him thats the problem, its the leaders of the club. They haven't changed the culture of the 90's, just hid it under the rug. divided they fall.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
