Not sure if I agree. Depends on whether that's your judgement or your signature.

If you think a guy who attacks people with a machette, abuses womens and drives drunk on several occasions is not a loser, then shouldn't it really be your signature?

Oh but we don't understand his culture & how hard it's been for him.... Lol give me a spell. Agree with everything you say Dee Zee.

Jurrah was found not guilty of attacking anyone with a machete, was found guilty of one (singular) count of driving over the limit, and was was found guilty of attacking a (that would be one) woman.

That you resort to exaggeration and hyperbole pretty well sums up where you are with it all, but gives your argument (such as it is) little or no credibility. But one can only hope that you live the kind of charmed life where no-one in your family or close to you ever loses the plot, makes a mistake, or for whatever reason finds themselves unable to deal with the world around them.

A human being's life has become a train wreck, and the best you can manage is "Lol".

He has just been charged with his second drink driving offence.

Assaulting one woman is one too many.

A mistake?......try 4 or 5 mistakes, also adding throwing his AFL career down the toilet.......who,s argument lacks credibility now?

Am I meant to have sympathy for him because his life has become a train wreck? Maybe he should take some ownership and stop continually breaking the law and putting peoples lives at risk.

Spot on.

I can understand one mistake maybe two, but complete disregard for other peoples lives i cannot.

I was a huge fan of Liam as a footballer, but its just been one indiscretion after another.

No one can hide the fact that he is totally irresponsible, whether he has lost his way or not.

No he hasn't.

"Jurrah was charged with driving in the Northern Territory while disqualified in another state, driving at a dangerous speed and manner, failure to obey signal of a member and exceeding the speed limit by over 30km/h."

No one is saying that's ok, but if you are going to blast the guy as a human being at least get your facts right and not add blatant inaccuracies to what is an already miserable situation all round. Edited by Moonshadow

You Galbally types can defend criminals all you like.

I for one am not getting sucked in by technicalities.

By any definition, Liam is struggling to adapt.

But his story of hope is really important if we are ever to achieve a sense of balance in this country.

In the absence of hope (sadly, in Liam's case), perhaps we could all try to understand how big the gap is. For a young bloke from anywhere to get paid shedloads of cash and be lauded by tens of thousands of supporters only to fall; I mean how hard is it for the others in his remote community with less sporting talent.

I'm sure there will be lots of stories about "how hard {insert name here} had it". I just find it sad that Liam's story will not have a happy ending on this path.

Lock him up before he kills someone!

This is the one and only point.

Rhetoric does not matter.

And just exactly how many times and how many peoples' lives has he put at risk? Yes, he made a big error of judgement by driving when extremely drunk (I haven't seen any official reports of a more recent drunk driving charge), he has done time for one crime and he was never charged with attacking anyone with a machete. Fair enough to have a low opinion of him, but what is the point of the exaggeration?

Just a fact jurrah has two kids so obviously the [censored] isnt worried about his family if he is doing 140k in a 100 speed zone. Also to be in a car police chase he could seriously kill someone! The cops were in the right in stopping because of the risk it would have on the public. RISK! ffs i dont give a [censored] about his family problems anymore and either does he. No more [censored] weak excuses with this criminal. Lock him up and throw the key away.

Wasn't defending him. Try learning to read a post properly before commenting.

I was stating that you got numerous facts wrong in your posts, which you did.

If you are not getting sucked in by 'technicalities', you most certainly are by poor comprehension and hyperbole.

How old are you kid, 16?

Dazzle. Can you confirm the occupants of the car included his children? Otherwise, why are they relevant and what is your point?

Again, the underlying driving force for much of the hatred on this topic is RACISM. You can dress it up as "this guy is a danger to society and should be locked away" etc. but it is driven by racism. It seems that when people express sympathy or attempt to understand the complexity and tragedy of the plight of young indigenous men like Liam, they are labeled as delusional do-gooders. The situation is complex.

I might even bump it for you.

Bollocks. It's got nothing to do with his race. It has to do with him acting like a moron that impacts on the rest of society. If anything the racism comes from the chardonnay sipping set that make apologies for his idiotic behavior based on his race. He is an adult male who needs to be held responsible for his actions, not some sort of child that doesn't know any better.

Refer to post 180 and 185 where you went wrong. You seem to be struggling to read tonight DZ.

And the answer to your other question is yes, a cousin. But I'm also glad that he rule of law took the judgement away from me, otherwise I may have subsequently been up on a murder charge myself.

Lol and ha ha all you like about a serious topic, but if you are actually 51 (which of course is anyone's guess because we are all "keyboard cowboys" here) then you should act your age.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
