I should have just posted what Dazzle did, I meant the best 22 part actually, we have moved on, Tyson, Vince, Cross and possibly Michie would be ahead of him in the queue by a mile

    Well the best 22 part may have been a bit strong since i haven't seen him in how many years, and as mentioned, he was a bit of a liability. But if he was somehow reformed (a big if) he wouldn't be competing with any of those four for a spot. He'd slot in to the forward line, where we could certainly use a bit of flair.

    We are clearly not wishing to show our hand with our permission to train list. Last year we lost Hannath after he trained with us. Don't think we would devastated to lose Jetta.

    Carl Peterson is a talent. If his head is in the right place (it wasn't when he was delisted by the Hawks), he'd easily be in our best 22.

    As long as he is nothing like Cam Pedersen.

    Given that the Suns and Giants have to begin cutting down their lists we might be able to pick up a few youngsters that have flown under the radar (due to injury or just being on such talent packed list).

    Wouldn't mind delisting Nicho for someone with a grain of potential like Weller.

    This would be after the Rookie List is scrapped, so in a couple of years, and what would happen is that a club would leave the last two positions open after the National and Pre-Season Drafts and would have give fortnight contracts to players to train with the team, at the end of which you would choose two from then or from other teams 'train-ons.' Or you could leave a position open for later in the pre-season in case of injuries etc.

    The player is simply signed and agrees to a contract acceptable to them.

    If you are a kid you get through the nat draft (where there is a automatic 2 year contracts for those in their first year nominated), and through the PSD (where you can name your own terms), you can then go and accept a 'train-on' contract with your choice of team and accept a contract that is acceptable to you.

    I think this is one of the next steps, we have given quite a bit of power to delisted players and 10 year players and fringe players who have been at a club for 8 years, I think it is time to give some power to the speculative teenager (and to the recruitment staff that wants to pick the right player and not waste anyone's time...).

    I think its safe to say that Nev will be taken as a rookie. He would have to be the best available when you're starting to get into the third or fourth round in the rookie draft.

    Similarly, if nobody takes Weller in the main draft, you would think we would take him with our first rookie selection.

    the issue is not regulation per se tbf, its sensible regulations and not nonsensical red tape, buckpassing and quasi-legal dithering

      When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

      The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
      Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
