interesting looking at that list and considering who will still be around

Couch , Blease, Byrnes, Nicholson, Rodan ....all unlikely I would have thought

I'm really getting sick of this, the AFL clubs treating the VFL competition like swiss cheese. to do to it as they please. they're destroying the VFL's standing in the communities around the country.

its time the AFL clubs separated from the VFL & went back to playing either prior to AFL home Victorian matches, or play at the training venues against themselves.

leave the VFL to be the suburban & regional entertainment they were.

They have seeded this to the Amos and local footy Dee-luded

What standing. The VFA gave up it's own standing when it became the VFL and relied upon the AFL to help it survive as a professional league. Most of the clubs have now worked something out. Northern Bullants and Box Hill have folded into their AFL alignments, Port and Frankston stand alone, Willy will join them, North Ballarat and Werribee enjoy a split a alignment.

Casey and Melbourne remain together because the matter is both clubs can't live without each other. And yes we've treated them badly the previous 2 years but at the moment we (and they) have been hit with a bad dose of injury trouble at the wrong time of the season.

It seems Hogan got injured, Rodan got injured, Couch got injured, Strauss, Burns and Blease all did contact injuries. Strauss and Blease I believe needed their surgeries regardless. I don't think they could've been delayed and even if they were they were probably out 4 weeks recovering just to play 1 match maybe.

As I said feel bad for Casey. But this is the same club who hired Fev when we pleaded with them not to. If anything they still owe us one.

Stark 2-4 weeks Hogan 4 weeks ... please (put down season). MFC doesn't rate Casey anyway, why else would Toumpas, Bail & Rodan all fail to qualify for Casey. Toumpas and Rodan should have played agst Box Hill and ... Bail sitting on his backside in Adelaide was "STUPID" item number 22 for the year.

yeah, its totally the clubs fault that these players hurt themselves and cant play for casey

get a grip

And we inflicted Cook on them about even I reckon

Is the inability of the team to compete an illness?

Anyone know what Rodan's injury is? The website says he was off for scans on Tuesday but as of yet there's been no word on them. Surely if its semi serious that'll be the end of his career. Given we got him for pick 88, and was brought in as cover for the younger guys, I think he did his job for us.

The extraordinary thing about our injured list is its capacity to expand during the week after the list has been announced. They are what's called around here "the mystery injuries of the week".

The following players not on the senior/rookie list are not playing this weekend:-

+ Rohan Bail (reason - probably emergency for tomorrow)

+ Mitch Clisby (reason - suspended)

+ Troy Davis (reason - believed to be a hamstring injury)

+ Joel Macdonald (reason - retired)

+ James Magner (reason - unknown)

+ James Sellar (reason - probably emergency for tomorrow)

It's tough on Casey to field a strong side of AFL listers when all of these things happen. Injuries can't be avoided but why did we need to hold back two players for tomorrow's game?
