First order of business: Tell Jack Watts he can't have players under his command that have a non-committal attitude, and as such he will be traded for the best midfielder available

Second order of business: Appoint Nathan Jones captain with Grimes and Trengove as his VCs.

Neither Grimes or Trengove should be Vice Captains at the moment.

Almost with you on that. If it's Roos, and I believe it is, it'll be a leadership group consisting of senior players with Jones and possibly Dawes at the helm. Possibly Sylvia and Grimes as VCs. Trengove needs some clear air to just focus on getting himself and his game right without any leadership weight on his sboulders.

With the Roy boys being my first club as a toddler, I always had a soft spot for them as my 2nd team when growing up following the Demons. My favourite players were Murray, Roosy and Osborne. I would chant "Roos!", along with many other Demon supporters when he took possession regardless of the situation and something I can't recall happening with any other players from opposition clubs. For those of you who might be too young to have seen much of his playing days, this was the mark of respect and admiration this bloke carried throughout his career. One of the most consistent and fairest I've seen play the game.

Reality is this will be a bloody tough gig regardless of whether it's Roos or not so we'll all need to rally around and grit our teeth for a long haul out of the mess over the next 3 to 5 years. But we couldn't be in better hands, apart from say a Ross Lyon, Thompson or a Malthouse

I rarely get excited and I'm a pretty big sceptic in most cases but in this case, subect to an earthquake levelling the G, I believe PJ has our man.

I'm calling it now. Welcome to the Melbourne Demons.....ROOOOS!!!!!

Any more actual news on Roos?

No there aren't any facts actually just a 50/50 comment but that's enough to get the media going and everyone else.

Few well informed people on here and outside seem very confident so i am just gunna go with the flow :D

I reckon Roos will be our coach next year, he's gone from zero to 50/50, I reckon it's climbing as we speak, Allahu Akbar

You have a family?

I readily admit I don't always endear myself and should perhaps embrace the Demonland community in a more meaningful way, but the guy you're talking to is just the pits.

One of the more objectionable people I've seen on a forum.

Is there a way to filter the posts in this thread so that it only shows actual news or discussions about the possibility of Paul Roos coaching the dees? :)

1. First impact if it is announced - membership to 40K next year. Nearly all my dees supporting mates don't have memberships anymore - many since Juniors sacking. they will be back.

2. Attendence at games - it will double for dees supporters.

3. No more excuses - shape up or ship out.

4. New momentum - even if the first year or two is tough the direction will be set up right and momentum will build.

5. rumour Roos met with the leadership group already (which I thought was odd given that two of the leaders are supposedly in Flagstaff Arizona exercising)

6. attracting good players wont be a problem now.

7. Rumour that Kennelly wants to come across as well - the irish connection.

I like any poster who has an attractive female as an avatar - although they used to be more revealing than they are now.

Guys, guys, guys (and girls if you are here?)! Enough bickering between each other! The fact that Mr P Roos will be joining us for next season (which will be announced Monday) should be enough to keep your bad emotions intact! Goos Fraba my lads, goos fraba!

So, are you settling the kiddies down or having sex?

Isn't the word doing the rounds, that Roos' appointment will be announced at Thursday's Blueys?

Im actually worried the day he is announced (if it happens and I dare not dream for fear of heart break) I will experience priapism for a full week.

When Roos says he's now 50-50 to coach us,i think we could be reading this wrong.

It could also mean he's 50-50 to coach either Melbourne or West Coast.

I wouldn't rule him out of the WC job if Woosha doesn't re-sign and his best mate Rossy Lyon is over there.

This is just the sort of thing that could happen to us at the 11th hour, the Eagles swoop and we're in the crapper again.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
