Your attendance at games is needed ...

When the players make an effort so will I.

Great attitude Fair Weather Ben. You typify what opposition supporters think of MFC. In that case, do us all a favour and find another club to 'support'. Again, have fun at the snow. Cheers.

I don't ski. But I'll think of you at the 19th hole.

Those of us who survived those mostly horrible years between The Red Fox and Swooper know what real hopelessness is all about. In those pre draft days we were stuck with an ageing metropolitan zone and a patchy country one. There are numerous examples in recent years of teams turning their fortunes around in the short term to be at least regularly competitive . I've missed only two Victorian home games ( through illness ) since the late 1950's . For me ,attendance is like a family duty.

Hard core. Love it.

I survived those years, but I still respected many of the efforts in that time. I still went every week thinking we were a chance. I still woke up on a Saturday morning excited about going to the footy.

The Neeld years are the worst I can remember.

Yeah right, sure.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

WTF are you talking about ?

Name a worse period than the Neeld years.

What do you care? You only care for your golf game

What's worse than the Neeld years is 'supporters' who give up like you.

Name a worse period than the Neeld years.

1919... didn't win a game and it took them until 1925 to make it to finals football.

1981 was the next when they one a single game.

I have been following them since the late 1950's and have never wavered in my support... unfortunately, living interstate means I cannot afford to attend on a regular basis, something I certainly did when I lived in Melbourne.

There is a lot of Bullshite going aroungd in this thread. Since when has attendance become compulsory? I pay my 500 or so for trident membership. I always buy a shirt. I usually buy a 200 raffle ticket. I sometimes donate a bit.

Having said that it is my decision whether or not I want to go along and watch the shite we are playing at the moment.

i PURCHASED A SEAT IT IS MY DECISION WHETHER OR NOT I CHOOSE TO SIT ON IT.

1981 was the next when they one a single game.

And finished the year with a percentage of 63.

To put it into perspective our current percentage is 51. And there was no GWS in 1981. This year is far worse thus far than 1981.

The Neeld years are the worst in living memory.

Glad so many of you support him and are relaxed by our plight.

Love the selective quoting.

And just because we aren't as prone as yourself to throwing a hissy-fit, that doesn't necessarily mean we are 100% behind Neeld. It means we support the players and we support the club.

No they don't. I don't. Plenty on here don't.

You're not a 'most hardened supporter' if you have a breaking point.

No u would be considered to be insane!!!

You're making stuff up. I never insinuated that there was anything but supporters who give up and wait for the club to come good before they will attend games. That is,... you.

No problem with that at all... at least you have the choice unlike we interstate members. Do we know if Ben Her is a member?... I for one get the feeling that he/she is probably holding out on a purchase conditional on Neeld's departure.

Did you express that view during the preseason when you were going to training and reporting here on it?

Ok, if percentage is the significant factor, then:

1919 42.96% (but it should be noted... this is an end of season percentage and you are isolating a percentage mid-season that is more likely to increase than decrease I would think).

It just shows you how pathetic Neelds record is when you have to dig up stats from 1919

Nothing to do with it... a challenge to find a worse period was put up and so I took it up. No one believes Neeld is doing a good job, but some of us believe he should be given the opportunity to complete his rebuild (end of this year). No doubt people like Ben Her, yourself and a few others would have been leading the charge to have Bomber Thompson sacked had you been Geelong supporters at that time.

You say you believe he is not doing a good job but he should be given the opportunity to complete his rebuild. Says it all really. According to Neeld the rebuild will not be complete at the end of the year and we should expect it to take another 5 years to be competitive. The club will be dead by then. I hope he's shown the door ASAP.

Actually, Neeld said 5 years from the start of his appointment, not from now, but don't let accuracy get in the way of your POV.
