Scully will be a Superstar!

We really have a knack for drafting duds. Someone really should be fired. ;)

Don't be too quick, he's still undersized... he may yet turn it on in the next year or even this weekend?

With high draft picks, anyway. We seem to have better success with late draft picks, eg Tom Mc

I would take Matt Jones over Tom Scully.

And to think we also got Mitch Clark*, Hogan or Toumpas and Barry/Dawes for the little pr1ck. No brainer.

Thank you GWS.

* from the money we'd kept aside to retain TS.

every year we pick the wrong player, this year we got Toumpas when Wines was the one. lt happens year after year, we will come last this year but who cares about picks because we will get the wrong one anyway.

That article also states that GWS are on the look out for a 'big-name ruck option'.

I wonder what they'd give for Jamar?

Can you even trade in-contract players?

Yes, but only if the player agrees.

Good, maybe if it's framed right we can get it done, Sheedy seems to have a massive ego and enjoys taking from the Dees. If he can be convinced the story will be 'Sheedy bags another Dees star', then maybe he'll take Jamar and we can get someone useful in return.

If you were an 18 yr old and were offered the obscene amount of money he was, including putting your phat Dad on the payroll, you'd jump. My anger has always been directed at the AFL on this one. They manufactured the environment and its had implications for all clubs since.

This pretty much sums it up.

FWIW I think this hurt us more than we recognise. He was supposed to be one of the guys we built a team around.

Don't care what happens to him now - he's taken the ca$h and made his bed.

If scully got subbed for lack of form during this game my year would be made!

you haven't seemed to give the admin credit for this? they know what they are doing.

giving the Russian a contract, gave him the option, as well as us... winwin.

when our kids are ready to overtake him then the time is right.

ah yes, the old 'as long as making money is involved, any action, no matter how repugnant, is acceptable' song and dance

that attitude is the attitude of the executives of Nike and that's why we have sweatshops. That's one example amongst millions that are responsible for the terrible state the world is in.

Yet you believe in it so much you defend it even to the detriment of the footy club you adore

Thats a pretty stupid post, who in the AFL is going to trade for Jamar.

the apparent messiah in Leigh Matthews swapped Johnstone for the pick that became Jack Grimes so anything's possible

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
