Why oh why does this need to be rocket science? There are 22 highly trained footballers who take the field. They have had six months day in day out to show something at the start of the season.

Either they are very bad at learning or they are very bad at instinct or both, however if 22 fit players cannot assemble themselves in a hurry to stop being thrashed then I have severe concerns that it is a huge Attitude issue and a complete disconnect with the coaching group.

I just don't get it. How can a side be so [censored] so early in the season.

Because the opposition are better.Suck it up.The road is long and all that .

If we can keep this team together for 3 years there will be some world shaking goin' on.

Hey Biff...it may be ok for dees supporters who are in primary school but as for us older types, good chance we will all be dead when that happens. By the way I've been sucking it up for 40 years

Being better is one thing. Every team being 100 points better is another.

there is not word i have typed on here that I would not say to any player's face if given the chance

they are all on twitter, go for it

they are all on twitter, go for it

Maybe thats part of the problem, social media, computer games, other social activities, and too much spare cash and time, and not enough real work ethic and exposure to life outside the club !

I got a letter from the membership staff last week, valuing my nine years consecutive membership and expressing hope I would soon re-sign for 2013. They must have mailed out a few of these. I was given a phone number to ring to talk directly to the person who wrote the letter to discuss any issue/s re Melbourne for this year.

But first make sure that your Twitter account displays your real name... the players certainly don't hide their identity (if it's to be about accountability, then set the example).

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
