How others perceive us

Featured Replies

I have left my Collingwood supporter daughter to go home via public transport ( in the rain) rather than the comforts of my warm car parked close by after she mouthed off one time too many to me at the football.

I have also given the silent treatment and basically ignored my husband for a week+ after QB.

Your time will come just hang in there

Wow after just torturing myself through the third quarter of the Adelaide Round 22 game, i can see how some labelled us as 'irrelevant'..... Can't wait for the start of the new season to rid my memory of that game....

Surly no Morton rivers and slow molonly we can jump out the blocks and go a lot better more forward presher we can when more games go dees

We have been the worst performed team in the league for over five years..... Outsiders have been given no reason to believe that this is going to change.....

It's nice to read the glowing training reports every pre season...... But in reality..... We are the worst team in the league and will remain so, until we win more games..... If we want respect from other clubs/supporters..... We have to earn it.....

From the reports I've read on here and what I've seen during this pre season, it appears that we have improved..... But I'll believe it when I see it in a game....

Did Adelaide really beat us in round 22?

Not possible - we must have been tanking!

It's been a while since Essendon won a game against Melbourne and they were so pathetic last year that, even with all of our problems, we actually outperformed them from Round 10 onwards. Yet somehow, the majority of those who have posted on this BomberBlitz thread reckon we're the ones that have the dud list and are in for another horrific season - 2013 Season Preview - Melbourne Demons.

After reading the optimism in the training report threads, I wonder whether if it's us who are losing touch with reality or is it them?

I've been at work and out of touch with the outside world all afternoon but I'm thinking of registering on BomberBlitz to discuss this and other matters of the day.

Anyone else think it's a good idea?

I've been over there for a look and I reckon it wouldn't take many Demonlanders to join up and the average IQ would double or even triple!

That's very funny indeed.

Can I suggest you sign them up as Dees next year on the hubbys Credit card.

Buy them merch etc.-Show them that we are not as exclusive as they may think .

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Brisbane

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

Melbourne wrapped up the AFLW home and away season with a hard-fought 14-point win over Geelong at Kardinia Park. The result secured second place on the ladder with a 9–3 record and a home qualifying final against the Brisbane Lions next week.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
