FAREWELL CALE MORTON

Recommended Posts

Right - enough of the fun and games.

Background:

I went to the TAB to collect my Saturday winnings and watch the Geelong Cup.

On the way back I walked past Cale on the phone. After crossing the road I decided to take a quick pic and put it on Twitter speculating why he was in Subi.

Of course lots of people took interest and it snowballed.

Now, a few things.

- yes it's Cale. Sorry I didn't take the zoom lens to the TAB. I'd like to think I've around Melbourne forums long enough to be trusted. I don't bullsh.t

- the MFC twitter crew thought it would be a good social experiment to see how far this would go. We haven't been let down. The 2 threads on Big Footy are, interesting, though I don't like being called a troll.

- finally Demon Forever - mate on holiday hey champ? You [censored]

Nice one Chook, well done, love it.

I mate has sent me the email containing this. Who do I believe? You who I don't know or my mate that I have known for 15 years..hmmmm

I reckon I back my mate unless of coarse you can prove otherwise...might sound up myself but you would do the same.

You could be right but hey, most blokes would back there mate in...

In fact if you can show me otherwise I would love to let him know about it..

Sorry Chook, i must be a bit slow. The TAB, the Geelong Cup? Does this mean you are in Vic and the photo is of him here? What does the MFC twtter crew have to do with it? Are the MFC twitter crew some old school break dance team?

By the way i thought Gatewood was a moral, backed and also backed it for the cup. Nice win.

I can confirm your mate has made you look like an ass.

The source of the tweet/photo is CIP.

Have a nice day.

So now it's supposedly Mitch Brown (the WCE variety) for Cale Morton and I see an astounding pattern emerging my dear Watson.

In the space of 24 hours we've been associated with Rodan, Prismall and now ... Brown. Every one of them has in the past been afflicted by anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions.

Mark my words dear Watson. This Neeld character and his plans are more diabolical than anything the evil Professor Moriarty could ever have dreamt up.

It's elementary. The man is attempting to construct a bionic football team!!!

Nice one, it certainly took off, made something out of nothing. Will be interesting to see if this makes it to the media, haha...

But just to reinterate, there are lots of reasons not to get carried away. Firstly, he's from Perth so he's likely to be there just visiting friends etc rather than visiting the eagles.

Secondly he's on the corner of Rokeby and Roberts Roads, with Subi oval about 300 metres away, but he hardly looks dressed as if he's there for a medical. Rokeby road has lots of restaurants, bars, cafes etc. so he's likely to be just down there hanging out, doing some shopping etc. It's like seeing Ricky Petterd on Lygon Street, and he must have been having a medical with Carlton.

I work and play in Subi - I know that! Was just messing around and it grew legs!

My goal is for Barrett to to drop it in on trade week radio. That would confirm that the AFL 4th estate is, indeed, a joke.

Maybe if he does move to Subi he will mysteriously and suddenly put on an enormous amount of muscle: it seems to just happen over there. Something in the water? Something else? Maybe the AFL should look at that instead of wasting their time following up the half baked allegations of a not-so-bright, disgruntled ex MFC player who after all now plays for the grand experts in tanking?

Frankly, I have totally lost faith in his ability and / or willingness to get involved in the harsh rugged brutal argy bargy that is AFL top level footy, even if he does sometime actually put in a full Missen preseason.

Nice work Chook. Some quality trolling.

I'm far from his biggest fan but a large part of me is relieved. Then again as much as Cale divides opinion (as evidenced in this thread), there isn't a single supporter who doesn't want to see him succeed. He's in a similar category to Watts in that he has his fair shate of naysayers both internal and external, but also the time and ability to prove them all wrong.

It needs confirmation?

Your Fn kidding me....thanks Chook from Perth! Please tell me you are not pulling my leg because if I go off at him I don't want to look like an ass twice. You know what I'm saying!

This could really get pear shaped if your pulling my leg.

If true from your end....amazing effort because I was convinced.

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
