All over the net and facebook - Tippett to the Pies and Dawes to the Demons... Not saying its reputable in anyway but there you have it.

Nah, wouldn't think so, big Chrissy Dawes a big lumbering spud.

Neeld isn't that silly.

how the F, do the filth afford tippet as well...no way they can be a player in this market

by trading Dawes and Wellingham

Please god do not give up anything more then a 3rd rounder for Dawes. If Martin/Pick 13/Gysberts are on the table here I will have a fit.

Maybe a straight swap for Martin

Dawes and Wellingham for Pick 13 and Martin I could handle...

The pies will want pick 13 for him no doubt. Definitely overs. 13 & Petterd for Dawes & Goldsack, now we are talking.

I can't see the filth having any interest in Stefan Martin if they've just added Lynch and Tippett to their ranks.

I am very happy with this. I think Dawes will be a good pick up. He will be on the "smaller" contract that he took to stay at the Pies compared to what we were willing to pay last year. So it's not like we are paying out $700 for him. Not to mention we have had Davey, Moloney, etc on big contracts and they havent produced much.

One of my mates spoke directly to Dawes and he said he has struggled as we all know since getting the role as the 2nd ruckman. He said by the time he goes to the forward line he is stuffed and out of breath compared to the previous years when he was just a full forward. At the Dees he wont need to be the 2nd ruckman thanks to Jamar, Mitchy, Martin, Gawn and maybe Grundy if we get him.

If its Martin for Dawes, just hang on to Martin. Please...

It would probably have to be only a pick though because with Lynch and (reportedly) Tippett, their salary cap would be tighter than Johnny Rottens jeans.

Tim Harrington on Trade Radio gave a VERY diplomatic answer about Dawes that to me seemed to sound like we were after him.

I like the idea of getting Dawes. His currency is at its lowest point now and I think would still have a lot of great footy ahead of him. In contrast to Stef Martin whose currency is probably not going to get any higher, and who I can't see turning into a great player (as much as I admire his efforts).

I think we're after anybody that wants to play for us. I would be very disappointed to lose Martin.

you said it King Ding!

Dawes > Martin.

Leigh Brown and Mark Neeld might be just what big Chris needs to return to peak form. Only a year older than Jack Watts.

1.5 million over 4 years. Do it!

never mind about currency. have you watched dawes lately?

I'd take Martin over Dawes.

exactly Max, said exactly the same thing myself.

I don't mind it to be honest.

would rather you be dishonest Stinger

Martin is better than Dawes.

hahaaha

yeah Martin is totally better than a 24 year old key forward who kicked a combined 57 goals and took a combined 200 marks in Collingwoods two grand final years

what a joke

Martin is nothing, he has done nothing at AFL level and never will.

Dawes will be the perfect support for Mitch inside forward 50. I hope we land him.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
