I realise it is a bit early...

but bomberblitz have challenged us to a match...

suggested dates are october 21 or october 28...

it will probably be a round-robin including at least the nick's pies site as well...

if people have preferences for date or venue, please post on here...

regards to all...

rollo

Can do either. I am in like Flynn!

3 (?) goals on debut, Deanox has now recovered from a career threatening knee injury and is looking forward to his come back game!

hey, deano...

it would be nice if you acknowledged the efforts of the other guys to set you up as you lurked in the goalsqare...

they could see you were getting tired walking between the goalposts... :)

Gee the bomberblitz blokes want to play us again? They are suckers for punishment.

Good job Rollo.

28th suits, more likely to be back in town then. First weekend in Nov would be even better...

I'm keen for a kick if there are spots available.

there are spots available, but not for passengers...

Tell me your site name is not indicative of your on-field efforts... B)

hey, wise...

Great to hear from you...

bad news is the bomberblitz guys want October 21...

good news is that rollo wants wise (although not in the bibliical sense) and rollo is on the job (although not etc)...

If you play this game and mickrocks is not available, you will join him as the player who has played the most games for demonland...

"im in finally injury free after 3 years 1 broken leg and 2 broken foot injuries"

sorry, DT, we now have a policy of not selecting injury-prone people with "tingles" in their site name... B)

Greetings Demons,

Scotty21 Bomberblitz skipper and organizer here. Big thanks to rollo for putting this thread up early. Hopefully we can get at least the pies on board and get the normal round robin going.

We are very keen to test ourselves against you dees as in 2010 you thumped up by about 12 goals and we cut that back to 4 goals last time.

Last time out we had a ripper one on one game vs the pies in Feb we got up by 15 points after the Pies kicked 1.9 in last.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers,

Scotty21

This is an actual game against other teams forums? Absolutely brilliant.

What are the prerequisites to get a game?

I assume its not taken too seriously and with just bragging rights on the line?

The boys did ok up the ground I reckon! I've been putting in all preseason and I think I may be able to press for a midfield spot this time around!

No-one remembers the guys that kicked it to the guy who kicked a bag, stay forward and thrive in the glory

sort of seriously non-serious if you know what i mean

'land/'ology has a seriously good record of late

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
