This year hurt. The following should never wear the red and blue again.

Rohan Bail

Clint Bartram

Matthew Bate

Aaron Davey

Lynden Dunn

Joel MacDonald

Brad Green - A year too early, but decision is already made; thanks for the memories Greeny!

Brent Moloney

Cale Morton

Ricky Petterd

Jake Spencer

Lucky to escape - Colin Garland.

+ anyone else the club deems to be toxic

I understand some have contracts... trade them for dim sims

Richmond delisted 13 a few years ago from memory? Be bold Dees, I don't know how much more I can take!

yep we have to cut many, no room for sentiment.

I was going to post in detail, but then I realsed you left off two of the first to go: Bennell and Jetta. The general thrust of your thread is right though - there needs to be a great many list changes.

I don't entirely agree with the names on you list, but the sentiment I think is good. Also, I think you will be happy with the result when draft time comes around. I said earlier this year that we would see a cull at the end of the season, and all indications are that this will happen. Activating both compensation picks is just one more sign that we are planning on hitting the draft and trade period hard and turning over a lot of players. I think I said at the time that we would see 8 players gone. It could wind up being more, depending on the club's perception of draft depth.

Felt sorry for Bennell with his knee. that's all lol.

And i like Nev, even though he's destined to prove me wrong.

Add them both to the list!

I can't see Nev going. I could be wrong, but I've always thought Neeld would love him. He does need to improve though.

Once Bennell's knee exploded I think that pretty much erased any remaining doubt about what to do with him. And Jetta just doesn't do anywhere near enough to earn another contract if we are a fair dinkum football club. Doesn't have any particularly standout attribute and doesn't get enough of the ball at all.

Yeah, I like his tackling which I guess is the thing you're good at if you can't get the ball

out of that list i rekon bail, dunn, moloney, petterd, morton and pencil should be kept at least as depth players. I still rekon moloney should be given another chance... if he can trim down even further and improve his fitness i think he could still be very valuable to the dees.

We have around 6 AFL standard players in the team with another 6 or so promising juniors.

The rest of the list is kidding itself.

I think Bail, MacDonald and Spencer will still be there next year and maybe Dunn. I doubt Bennell will though.

Yep happy with this entire list with the addition of Bennell & Magner who I've never liked as a player... but maybe we should give Barts a chance with his knee first.

Jetta gets one more year.

Watts gets one only more year too as far as I'm concerned. If he doesn't sharply improve I can no longer defend him, my credibility is already being ridiculed.

I'm almost certain Jordan gysberts will be on the trade table.....

Dunn is a keeper for now. He has pace and perform a role.

Can't see the club abandoning Bartram given his injury situation

Lynden Dunn MAY just squeeze into a new contract

Jake Spencer is a "competitive beast" (in the words of Nathan Jones) and will not be delisted

The rest are out of here faster than a Barry Bonds home run.

Geelong with Riv.

Robbie when you said in the other thread that we had found some managers not even interested in talking to us about certain players - any ideas which players??

No idea of the players.

Riv as well? What do you expect to be getting for them? I think that would be quite a hard trade to put a value on.

Isn't Riv a FA or RFA?

Not much, is the answer.

Jeez felt sorry for Bennell but not Bartram? Clint has twice the desire of Jamie and our best small defender. I reckon we might keep him on out of the off chance his hail Mary surgery comes off.

Otherwise I'd agree with most of your choices and idea, we need to cut ties with the last 5 years.

If Gysberts does go then that's a really sad story, such a high pick, especially since he was what we got for McLean (who has been dominating). The fact that Neeld has only given him one game this season is a disgrace, considering some of his form in the previous two seasons, yet it probably proves what he thinks of him and means he will leave

Ruthless =

delistings - Jamie Bennell, Matthew Bate, Aaron Davey, Neville Jetta, Troy Davis, Cale Morton, Lucas Cook, Ricky Petterd & Jake Spencer

(Brad Green retired).

That's 10 off the list.

Brent Moloney, Lynden Dunn, Joel Mcdonald all survive.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
