By me, we've got 23 players out of contract. Of those, 13 played Saturday. And of those, I could only say one or possibly two at a stretch had a decent game.

Sam Blease had a good one.

The only *possible* decent one was Mark Jamar.

The one I'll let off is Jurrah, who was on his first game back.

How are so many of these guys not realising they're fighting for their careers?

These guys can all play... everyone on an AFL list has ability... that's how they get drafted.

When a club can't extract that ability from across the entire list there is a bigger problem.

Blame the players?...sure they are part of it ........but they did not all become duds over the off season

No, the duds were duds last year. And the year before that.

So they are good enough to be in the top echelon of footballers over the the years before they get to MFC but then they become incapable.... some times it takes us a couple of years to reveal that they were actually no good!....do you see a link?

I just find it impossible to believe we are this bad. No team can be as bad as us unless they want to be. Nearly all the players seem to be going at a lazy 80% or less. I feel for Neeld. Like he is caught in the crossfire to to what happened last year and is destined to become another scapegoat. I believe things will get darker because we have incompetants running the club and at the moment and there is no one to challenge them. Not a matter of game plan or structures or anything else the coach can do. Player morale and discipline is shot and has been for a long time because they have been treated with contempt by a clueless old boys club and long standing issues have not been addressed. I imagine now the vast majority of our players are cursing their luck at ending up with us.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft.     Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock for the final week of training for the 1st to 4th Years until they are joined by the rest of the senior squad for Preseason Training Camp in Mansfield next week.
