Jack Watts panelist on The Footy Show tonight

Presenting an argument and discussing the merits of either point is my job. Not agreeing with your point of view does not make them arrogant, a megalomaniac or dismissive. Following your logic, wouldn't this make you the same?

BOOM, lawyered.

So if your a lawyer and in Perth we may have crossed paths!

I find the show puerile in the extreme - then again I watch the WWE wrestling religiously. so maybe I have a twisted view of puerile.

i also watch the WWE, and the footy show maybe im a sucker 4 punishment oh wait im also a melbourne supporter yep its official i am a sucker 4 punishment

I'm pretty sure lawyers don't say "BOOM, lawyered"

This is awkward - I wasn't talking about you...

I was talking about my evil twin being more of those things than me.

Jack was a prefect at school and underwent extensive leadership training, so it's no wonder he comes across as quite polished on TV!

However I believe a better forum for his talents is "Before the Game" (on which he has appeared)!

foot ...gun....bang !!!

should that be foot...mouth.....mmmffpphhhh

but yes, it was deserved.

Jack said - I'm really looking forward to Neeld coming. "With a game plan and structures in place we can't help but improve." Just a bit damning of DB!

I picked that up too angrydee. Not sure if we read too much into it however I though exactly the same.

I'm wondering why there hasn't been *more talk of the fact that when Jack Watts was discussing the Hawthorn V Collingwood game on TFS - which anything relevant to The Footy Show can be discussed in this thread ! - even people's likes/dislikes regarding the show - the topic of Chris Dawes came up in Jack's discussion. He said something like "From what I gather Dawes is coming out of contract"...intimating to Garry - "is that right Garry?"

To which Garry reacted with a Darryl Somers-like action of "Cut" (Don't go there, let's not talk about that Jack!)

But I guess it's not worth discussing...probably didn't mean much at all quite frankly.

At least I hope not.

* = Was ever so briefly discussed on page one.

This might explain your rudeness.

Loved seeing Wattsy on the Footy Show, looking forward to seeing it again in the near future. Sam's jokes were especially funny last night, especially the toilet paper one with Tom Scully, the make me giggle. Hopefully we can get BJ and Dawes to the mfc next year, that would be fantastic. I find all of Gary's hair jokes funny too, had me on the floor!

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
