Bailey throwing a few barbs back at us

Featured Replies

Thats Not throwing Darts.

Bailey would want MFC to grow & overcome our own issues to achieve success.

IMO our Major collective weakness is our total inability to be self introspective. http://en.wikipedia....i/Introspection

We keep looking at people trying to help us by telling us hometruths only to turn around and accuse them of being nasty. Very few AFL people are like this. Don't misunderstand honesty for being Vindictive.

We need as a club, to become Less Precious & Defensive.

I know what you mean, it certainly doesn't help if you tell a few home truths on this board.

That's correct if you can't understand that there are problems then you can't solve them. If you keep saying that we'll be ok in just one more year or just one more pre season then you'll miss the fact that you don't have the players capable of taking the next step. Giving the Players and the Club excuses and not grasping the reality of the situation is just papering over the cracks.

This post needs more cliches.

Sorry I'd run out of them at the time, but I could say that "we are a young team and need to get games in the legs" or something stupid like that. Sorry that's you line isn't it?

Would surprise me if DB was aiming comments at us. Would be immensely out of character.

I found the drinking comments of interest however.

The drinking comments just prove that Scully will never truly fit into any football environment and thinks he's a bit above anyone else. I don't drink and haven't for 13 years due to health issues but I certainly do not begrudge anyone else drinking. What DB said on SEN is that Scully does begrudge people who drink so he will always be an outsider.

Has young Tom joined Hillsong in Sydney's north west yet? Perhaps this was the non-monetary factor in his decision to head north?

I expect Sheeeeds will love his boys singing hymns before and after each practice session. Just the culture Sheeeeeds would be seeking to introduce at GWS.

Edited by Ron Burgundy

I think a big factor would be the fact Choco (the real coach of GWS) is also a teetotaller.

I just wonder how Scully will cope when he realises the kids at GWS won't be as single-minded in their pursuit of football success either.

I think Bailey has nothing short of a Class Act

I am not even sure he should have been sacked

No one doubts that DB is a nice guy, but please, take off the blinkers and look at the results.

I heard the interview and it made me want to support another club. he was SO convincing (NOT)

It seems that skullduggery is the only innocent, upstanding person of integrity in this sad play

Bailey some how shifted all suspicion of beytrayal to any and all associated with the club and absolved Tom Thumb of any deception.

A person of quality and integrity he said of the small outside knee buggered mercenary

Tommy never even thought of the GWS shift until the Sunday morning stroll over the harbour bridge which resulted in a serendipitous meeting with GRUBBY and the Martian

Give ma a break. Bailey is an expert at lobbing hand grenades a snide and clever fellow, a Shite coach.

wow - we must have listened to different interviews

There is a huge difference to listening to, and inderstanding what is being said

He was lobbing grenade after grenade at the MFC

Simon and Garfunkel expressed it beautifully in their seminal "Sounds Of Silence"

The Sound of Silence?

I understand, I don't comprehend.

Bailey on SEN prematch talking about MFC and the appointment of Neeld.

An absolute class act.

He may not have been the best coach, but I will always have admiration for that man.

Top bloke.

What did he say Jack....i am listening to Garry Lyyon on MMM

What is Bailey's thoughts on Neeld??

What is Bailey's thoughts on Neeld??

Only remember vaguely.

He said he wishes him all the best and thinks he'll be a successful coach at Melbourne.

Anthony Hudson asked Bailey, now that he was outside the club and having seen the way we finished the season, whether he had reassessed our list and it's potential going forward.

Bailey said not at all, and that he thinks we'll be successful.

Can't remember too much more right now.

I'm sure there'll be a podcast somewhere.

Bailey always impressed me in the way he spoke, I think he's just an honest person and I reckon most people would've felt the unrest towards the end of the season gave Scully more of a reason to go, but note the paper that ran with it: the herald sun. They love a "headline" line, Dean provided that when asked a question and answered it quite simply.

I don't see this as Bailey throwing things back at us, I see it as Bailey being Bailey.

If he was lobbing grenades he forgot to pull the pins out. I heard/comprehended/understood something completely different from you obviously.

Touché and I am also completely of this opinion.

His comment saying he'd take to the grave his lost opportunity with such a good young group of boys really reminded me what a great guy Deam was.

I really wish he was the guy to lead us to a premiership!

Bailey lobbing grenades ?? Bailey throwing barbs??

You idiots

Bailey backs Neeld

If only many of you really believed in this club half as much as Dean still seems to.

Good luck Dean, ya welcome back anytime.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
