in all seriousness I reckon this is the MOST sane thread on the boards

It is certainly best, most enjoyable and least inane thread. It also had the best banana recipes; what more could you want ? :-) :-)

Sounds like a name for a cocktail :-)

You mix one jigger of essence of banania, add some banana vodka, melt in a banana icy pole, add some banana liqueur, a bit of banana brandy and stir over ice. Yummy!!!!!!!!

I'll drink to that !!

Peanut fan, eh jazza? Whatever helps you stay off the smokes, I guess :-)

On what basis is this thread on the main forum? It doesn't even pretend to be about football (unlike most other threads, which start out with good intentions only to very rapidly devolve into the 21st century equivalent of the silly shite-slinging that must be hardwired into our simple simian brains).

Quite correct Gallus ! There are too many posters who mindlessly derail sensible threads. I do my best to maintain some order but sometimes I am overwhelmed by the likes of OD's misery, dc's innuendo and Moonshadow's bizarre sexual suggestiveness, that it all becomes too much.

Anyway onto important matters. I am going from strength to strength at the gym , however, I have now been instructed to carry a towel to mop up the pools of bodily fluids that I leave in my wake.

Nuts and nanas- FMDrunk.

The symbolism is overtly homoerotic.

The things you crave are disturbing me.

We have enough unrequited love around here for a book of poetry.

Very good thought bb.

So you need more football threads?

Currently we have

1 who do we delist this year

2 who to recruit this year

3 our list is crap

4 today's game

5 who do we delist this year

6 who do we recruit this year

7 our li....

Hmm seems to me most of the subjects are well covered.

I too am having a hard time trying to emotionally stabilise a varied and idiosyncratic bunch if dispirited men and keep them focused on football. Unfortunately I know how Roosy feels and I believe chook does also.luckily we have frequent updates on your bodily fluid output and intake to provide is with a thought so repulsive that we feel like talking footy again.

Don't be so precious Biff. It's all in a day's work to you - surely.

I moved out of that line of work months ago.

I recall vividly a time when you were willing to be the John Voight character to my Dustin Hoffman.

You country lads come to town with stars in your eyes in your tasseled suede suits but you never last long in the cut and thrust of the big smoke.

Odd you should mention my apparel Biff. I had a "fine dining experience" last night and wore my suede jacket (sans tassels). Must say I drew quite a few glances of obvious admiration.

This thread has lost all credibility since the FROG croaked it.

The footy content has completely gone downhill.

And BBO has lost 2 grams.

Poor old pond scum.

I often think about him just after my morning coffee and cig.

As I sit on my throne.

yep, sadly once a hayseed, always a hayseed......i feel a C&W song brewing...stuff the poetry

Have to admire your subtle cruelty and sadism Biff. Admit you only alluded to the exquisite pleasure of the morning smoke and coffee to bring Jazza out in a cold sweat.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
