The Melbourne Football Club announces the 5 year plan.

Spokesman Neil Nvoid told the three gathered at the presser that the New Board , The New President an the New Coach have formulated the way to success.

Neil then went on ( an on ) to outline how after much research and untold discovery the MFC is now on the road to finals.

When asked the direction the club will take he outlined the course to be taken based upon the new ideals formed around Wide-ranging Instructions Negating Negative Induced Non-responsive Generations

it seems we've been concentration far to much on Long Odds Systems Inducing Nothing Good

Now the offending characteristic of our poor form has been isolated we will now march fervently up the ladder

When taken to task about our past poor performances it was pointed out that past teams and administrations simply sucked big time.

Asked about the F word Neil responded similarly !! As to top 8 finishes, the official line was "well we take it all one week at a time, but don't go booking any holidays in September from here on in"

So there ya go OD...good as done mate !!

In Honkers en route to Liverpool via London and Manchester.

Could someone please briefly list all of the trades we've done before we board for Heathrow (about an hour's time)?

All our trading staff are either on an extended lunch break or been sacked.

So when happy hour is over we should have a trade or two but I think we also need some steak knives to sweeten our deals.

May be winning more then 5 games in a single season?

Can you guarantee me five wins next year?

Got every British newspaper in the BA lounge and I see they haven't improved a single iota since I was last here.

Not a single word about trading and free agency.

Who do they think they are?

See you soon.

Have we stumbled on the faceless men behind the dees

While RL and WJ are taking an extensive wedding break all trading done by MFC ceases

We can only wait to see the expenses claim for this wedding when the signed forms for the internationalised Demon recruits are lodged and amid a flurry of reporters their feet hit the tarmac at Melbourne

Keep it under wraps with coded talk of bananas while letting the mainstream press divert itself with imaginings of Buddys contract

Revenge is sweet

And it's a very good morning from Liverpool, England and I have some sensational news for followers of this thread.

We now have our own poet laureate in the form of one of the great female voices in contemporary Japanese literature, Tokyo's own (and now our own as well) Banana Yoshimoto . The author of a dozen novels including Kitchen and her latest, The Lake was featured in the British Airways in flight magazine which I read on the way from London Heathrow to Manchester last night.

The sun's about to rise in Liverpool, the place we're staying at is right on the Mersey River overlooking the port. Can't think of a better spot to discuss Japanese literature and the fascinating developments of Melbourne's trade week over breakfast with Redleg.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
