Just to remind you all of my pathetic year on the punt. I put 50.00 on Melb, last year to make the 8 !!! What do they say about a [censored] and his money?

I just watched a horse of mine run 20 lengths last in heavy 10 ground.

I should ask him if he has ever played footy, I know where he could get a game.

My guess is Messendon for their special amd mysteries compounds, but I could be wrong.

I'm watching GWS v Richmond and if GWS has any interest in winning I'm staggered. But it's the AFL's baby so nothing will ever be said.

Perhaps I'm just imagining it.

You are not saying Tanking are you?

I'm saying that this side is 80 points down at half time and I find it hard to believe they are anywhere near that bad. Bugger it, yes tanking.

No guilty but here is a $600,000 as the boys in the AFL need a first class holiday after a very bussy year and every bit helps.

Big bodied midfielder I'm guessing.

If Yes , forget Messendon we have a few places right here in the MFC.

Should the MFC have award the best and fairest award in 2013?

Yes, award it to the supporter who went to every home game.

I love this idea

Too many it looks like.

That could be a difficult search RtG

ah.....i was wondering whether it was poor drafting or poor development

ah.....i was wondering whether it was poor drafting or poor development

both, Prendergast said he wanted to be consistent across the board

Out on Saturday night at a birthday party at which the Essendon / Carlton game was being played.

two interesting things

- How I would like to support either of those side, they played it out to the last seconds.

Both in my opinion are on the way up and over the next few years to possible grand final appearances

They were both below the MFC 6 years ago!

- To a person all I got from the assembled group was pity. That is the ones that knew I was a dees supporter.

The rest thought I supported Carlton. Oh for the days when we actually meant something in the competition.

Supporting Carlton on Saturday reminded me what it is like to barrack for a decent team and being involved in the match.

A lost feeling I realised on Saturday night.

PS it is probably the wrong thing to say on here but the mate and I that I go to the games with most days decided yesterday we are going to a number of decent games next year instead of the agony that is the MFC.

I would really like to enjoy a game of AFL for a change.

I think the Blues may be on the way down, as Judd, Scotland, Simpson, Waite and other experienced players will soon retire, or leave, like perhaps Betts.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
