Well the dentist went well one and half hours in the chair and no pain.

Very nice lady dentist really knows her stuff.

Banana crepe with caramelised bananas and coconut ice cream for dinner tonight.

Nine out of ten Redleg.

The most amazing thing about today is that no where was the MFC mention

Nothing on the local news, CNN, BBC world, Aljazerra, or newspapers

Heaven really.

Enjoy Monday guys my last day in the chair.

Yes Yes I know OD but I think we would both be enlightened by Biff's explanation of " sensitive " matters. BTW I'm betting it's warmer in Bangkok than Romsey. And I'll be there at the end of the month. Another BTW, if you discover a good tailor let me know.

Tweed?

Crushed velvet?

Rayon perhaps.

Its GBH or GHB isn't it now?

I must confess to having only a passing (as opposed to working) knowledge of such peccadillos. Consulting with a British conservative politician may be useful. However, I do know that quite a bit of GBH has been enacted at the Gatwick over the years.

Well Redleg I have to report that yesterday I had the best banana smoothie of my life.

Yes I know a big statement.

It was called " banana monkey"

Very cold yoghurt with banana and on top with small pieces of frozen mango.

To die for.

Enjoy the long weekend guys.

Implant day today for me.

Not looking forward to this however it will probably be better than Monday at the MCG.

Enjoy

OD, don't use the word "monkey". We will get in all sorts of trouble.

Good luck with the implants, you might end up looking like Ben-Hur's avatar. Oh sorry, you were talking about teeth implants. Good luck anyway.

Good question RL. As you have correctly observed, Latex makes a perfectly functional raincoat. However, I believe there are those of other “persuasions” ( not necessarily religious) who like wearing latex for more, shall we say personal reasons. And then of course there is Biffen who appears to observe the guiding principle that “nothing exceeds likes excess”.

Yes ,we are a very broad church down here at the Gatwick and more than our fair share of members like to experiment with human minds boundaries.

For those of you ever offered GHB I wouldn't take it.

Drugs that tend to make the user drop dead immediately are not my cup of Earl Grey .

I dont understand many things in life BBO.

Most of the things i cannot comprehend are done by British Tories but if you could connect me up with some of your allies in the House of Lords I am willing to learn .

It’s all about image Biffo. How do you expect the landed gentry to take you seriously if your address is The Gatwick Private Hotel? I mean really!!! Even Burwood would have more appeal. And look at your scruffy picture. I realize you would cope famously with some of the upper house “eccentricities” but you would require a major makeover. Sorry to be hurtful.

Point taken BBO-I guess I'm just not cut from the right cloth .

If it helps ,I'm a long time member of an unofficial hunting club ,or a gun club at least .

Can't believe the Gatwick Hotel has slipped so far in peoples eyes.

May have to buy myself a cravat and Jodhpors ,riding crop etc.

Thanks for the added vice.

The riding crop is compulsory. A selection of good rattan canes would help. As would a tawse ..... but I digress.

Trying to find one of those walking sticks that holds whiskey.

A tawse is a little out-dated.

Tasers seem to have taken over.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
