If we make a Coaching change, it wonโ€™t be until the end of the season.

I can live with that. Never been a big fan of midseason coaching changes.

J Hunt a former Melbourne player, was playing Reserves for the Eagles on Saturday. They lost but he was third best on ground for the Eagles. So I got to sing It's a Grand Old Flag again.

Not sure how singing the Deesโ€™ song comes from a losing Eagles game where a former Deesโ€™player is 3rd best for them, but glad you enjoyed the moment.

You can probably sing it again now, as Casey won last night and a Deesโ€™ player was our best.

Its a Grand Old Flag is also the club song for West Perth (WAFL). Which is a good thing as I only need to remember one song for both my AFL and WAFL teams. I just a simple country boy after all. To be honest, when I stopped supporting the Eagles back in 1998 because they started the host club arrangement in the WAFL. I started supporting Melbourne because it was red and blue, the same colours as West Perth.

So I don't sing the Dees song, I was singing the Falcons (West Perth) song. Which I love to do after a win. You should have heard me singing the song when we beat the Fremantle Dockers Reserve WAFL side (PEEL Thunder) two weeks before under our new coach. My dislike for the Eagles and Dockers is strong as they have damaged the WAFL by making super teams. They have all the current AFL players with a ton of coaches. Last season PEEL won the flag, I wonder why?

Looking like a totally meaningless end to another meaningless season for us..

We appear to be treading water.

New venue still not announced.

No new players to excite.

Have never got a good free agent.

In just two games i watched involving Dockers, Giants and Swans there were 7 former Demons playing regularly and we have not one from another team since 2021.

I donโ€™t think we have an NGA player in our senior side.

The Coach appears to be just hanging on.

We keep losing to ordinary sides in the same way we have for the last 4 years.

Oh well we still arenโ€™t that far away, so maybe next year.

That's sobering, isn't it...

Although, it is offset somewhat by the draft outcomes that followed.

And perhaps a bit harsh on Langdon's, Melksham's, May's and Lever's participations.

Ironic, too, that this discussion is in this thread. His was a loss I don't think we (eventually) felt we suffered for! ๐Ÿ˜„

Not sure there will be coaching change. Goody said on one of the talk shows or radio, canโ€™t recall, that he is going on weekly walks with the incoming CEO.

CEO probably trying to get the lay of the land and Goody probably schmoozing and getting in the good books to make it hard to move him on.

I did say players we got since 2021, they were all pre 2021.

Donโ€™t know who you mean, as no name is in my mind, but he wasnโ€™t a loss, just good riddance.

Oops! So you did, Red. My bad!๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Clutching at straws, were Hogan and McDonald in the 7? (with Jackson, Bedford, Grundy, Jordon and Neal-Bullen (though you didn't mention Crows)?) They'd be 'disqualified', too...

Yes there are more like ANB at Crows and Corey Warner was the other Docker.

I was going to respond to your post in a passionate thoughtful way.

But currently, I have lost interest as the club appears not interested in making the hard decisions ๐Ÿค” to become successful again.

The club is achieving a worst performance each season since 2021. This includes the lost of four final games in a row, this was when the club was able to play finals. I get the feeling, the club will take awhile before it can play finals again. Unfortunately, the same thing is happening with my WAFL team. Life just sucks, but the Coach was replaced and the team is playing better. Baby steps.

I suspect there must be a few internal issues happening in the club and the recruitment of a CEO who has no industry experience and was in no rush to take on the role will not help!

Get excited about the young core.

We MUST move on from the 2021 team pronto, if the club intends to become something remotely competitive in a few years.

Sounds like the 57 year plan we had for our last flag.

The danger with losing is it becomes the norm. Better to have a winning culture and it makes recruiting and retention of top players much easier. Not to mention the impact on the clubs supporters and revenue generation.

I wish I could drink such a wonderful thing! But we lost to East Perth on the weekend after being about 5 goals in the lead at half time at our home ground in Joondalup. Nothing taste any good after this horror!

The Eagles came last in both the AFL and WAFL! This season is not a total disappointment.

Finally, some good news ๐Ÿ˜ the Board has made the correct decision. Now don't stuff up the recruitment of the next Senior Coach.

Both my teams have been rubbish for a few seasons now, and both are in the market for a new Senior Coach. At least this is the first step in healing the supporters pain.

Thinking I need a

OMG someone suggested Nathan Buckle as our next coach, FIGJAM himself. My number one rule in recruitment is NO ONE from Collingwood, EVER. They want to bring back Mark Needle next!

At the very least Simon won the flag that allowed me to hold the cup ( couple of months later) and Cheer for The Dees as premiers.

Thank you lord I have seen the light,

Bananas for breakfast from now on.
