The luck in footy.

Lever goes out for 2 months, for what we thought was a 1 week ankle injury.

Stewart returns against us, to control the Cotton Ons backline and then pulls out tonight sick.

Stewart available for one round in between issues. Dangerfield not being suspended for yet another elbow to the throat, and then confounding our defence. Such is life. Just Geelong's captain and vice-captain playing probably their best individual games for the season.

Wouldn't have minded if Coniglio had been managed sore for round 1 instead of being played as a permanent forward, given he has only played in half the Giant's games. He was a matchwinner against us for sure.

But aside from lamenting the cruelty of the footy gods, it looks like as a team we have a major problem with veteran strong-bodied mids being sent forward.

Touk Miller kicked three as the Gold Coast mids romped through for about ten goals between them.

The North game is about the only one not defined by midfielders kicking goals against us, and even then, well, plenty of mids and mid-sized players kicked goals against us, it was just incidental on top of everyone else kicking goals against us that day.

Today’s result will be interesting.

A hope for a revival or possibly season over.

Membership numbers could be seriously affected too.

Season been over for us since round two. I still feel that the 2028 AFL is a better time for us.

But on a brighter note West Perth has done well by recruiting a former Casey player. The young fella looks like he can play.

After our recent loss, we need to start a countdown as to how long it will take before we start winning again 😭 😔

I have just spoken to the football gods and it's NOT looking good for us this week! So I just show our straight loss count 6

Revised count 1 win 5 losses

It a great day whenever a Fremantle team gets beaten

Roan Steele looks like a great loss to Casey, but a fantastic addition to West Perth. He looks like he can play lol

Didn't get to see a lot of him at Casey but do recall he finds a lot of footy.

Reckon he'd make an AFL list DemonFrog?

Only seen him play on streaming, can't wait to see him play live once they stop playing at 7.10 pm. It takes me about 1h 30m to drive to Joondalup Oval, well the wife driving as I have mobility issues.

I think he must have come West to enhance his chances to play AFL. What I have seen so far is exciting 😁 Unfortunately West Perth no longer has any AFL players so if he gets recruited he will be gone.

Yeah; where can we go to find out, Red?

Sounds like we are in a Woody Allen movie.

A fresh rabbit hole for this peripatetic thread.

Allow me to kick it along the road:

We were in a (TV) movie, foreshadowing (wrongly, thank God) the aftermath of the Round 6 Freo game.

'Crisis in Six Scenes'

We have a new CEO.

Unfortunately he has no football industry knowledge other than being involved in sponsorship and he doesn't know when he can start work. But the current Acting CEO is doing a great job so he not needed right away.

Then why didn't we appoint the current Acting CEO? Then club needs stability not another inexperienced trainee in the top job.

Paul is very experienced. Even Eddie was glowing in his praise.

He can't be that experienced as he has never managed a football club before. A strong leader has a solid understanding of the industry they manage. Oh well, time will tell if he any good or not, but I have a feeling we lost another opportunity.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
