I recall learning that Elizabeth I had a bath once a month "whether she needed it or not" ...

Collingwood supporters would see no problem with that R and B.

nothing unusual in that

there is only one bath (shared) in romsey and it's more than a month when your turn comes around

mind you, queens in romsey get preferential treatment

imagine that room, red, when the fridge had been on the blink for a few days

I suppose it would be a good place to meet people.

Depends on the sort of person you want to meet. It sounds like it could be a medieval Gatwick ... :) :)

In the 18th century they washed clothes and linen with animal urine.

Something that still happens today in Romsey.

also jazza, feudal japan was very short on fertilisers and soil was poor in nutrients

all human waste was collected daily and spread over the fields

no doggy bags then and walking the fields was a hazardous task

early europeans (who smelt pretty bad themselves) described the awful stench of the countryside

how is the diet going, red

i'm losing weight and i'm not even dieting or exercising

getting that tapeworm turned out to be a good move

thanks biffo

While not sticking strictly to a Paleo diet I am eating less and drinking more water.

I have some scales on holiday but they are not very accurate. Depends if you lean what it shows.

Get home on Saturday and back onto regular scales and would expect a small loss.

Might try and go a bit more caveman when I return. That doesn't mean belting the wife over the head with a club either, especially as I would be scared she would belt me back harder.

Please note! We of Romsey's polite society will not be drawn into any puerile discussion of toilet or personal hygiene habits.

Although, for those who have a genuine interest, I will note that the chronic fungal issue appears to be under control.

Has that helped with attracting the ladies?

Exactly the same, so not too bad. Problem is, WJ is dragging me off to Chinese Restauarants and trying to sabotage me.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
