Jazza/Red how are the boys looking on the training track?

My feeling is there will be improvement in 2015 but not too much.

Although I hope I am wrong as OD needs that premiership.

Still think 8th not out of question.

OD,is a major problem seeing the next flag.

Although his secret trip to mexico for a full transplant of all internal organs went quite well.

Blood transfusions from 16 yo virgins may even get him to live into the 2020 period.

Not bad for a bloke who was born in 1848.

I went last week and they looked in pretty good shape except of course Trenners and Watts nursing a groin.

Hogan won 3 x 1k runs and looks just awesome. I have a man crush on him.

Billy Stretch is slight and was also on a modified day.

Petracca and Brayshw look ready to go with the mature recruits like HT, Garlett, Frost and Newton.

They worked hard and the vibe was good with a lot of encouragement being given by players to team mates. I really believe there is a change in culture with most players from the losing culture having left.

I am optimistic of a good year of improvement depending of course on injuries.

I would love to see what Hogan can do in 2015.

I am a bit worried people are putting to much pressure on him to be a super star from his first AFL game.

Given our recent history I don't think people are expecting him to be a superstar from his first game. I am sure they would wait until his second game.

That is weird sh ite dc!!

You doing drugs instead of bluerinsers?

I assumed he meant Ed Zachary!

Then again it may be just my usual sadness and despair that this time of year brings to me. I am sure dc is currently enjoying the company of a bluerinser and will have his choice of them tomorrow . For myself , even my family has abandoned me and I am destined to spend Christmas with the lads. They mean well but I cannot take them anywhere.

Even friendless Biffen has his slags for comfort. But what of me? It is a cruel world.

You appear to be crying out for help BBO, I suggest you spend some time with the good book, don't bother asking me which chapter or verse, just pick the bloody thing up and read from it, preferably in a sober state....

Which, in particular, of the Marquis' works do you call "the good book" HL? I find them all both a comfort and inspiration.

Dad used to smoke something like hemlock in the old days.

Only came on here this morning to entertain the lonely fools like DC,BBO and find out if the cops have found Biffo.

Wasn't a bad horse in the 60's. I do remember the tins of tobacco, pretty coarse stuff if I remember rightly.

I am scared to think what some of you blokes have put in your xmas egg nog.

Compliments of the silly season.

Just flicking through the last 600 pages here and wondering if the silly season ever had an end or a beginning.

Jazza ,if you are going fishing, try having a shower as fish can smell the Bullsh!t from miles away.

I am off to start some bush fires in Beech Forest with some CFA volunteer mates. We are going to be heroes if we can put it out.

Nothing of any cultural significance there anyway.

The land needs clearing.

Col b- we missed that beer at the Bristol- she is all over as of last week.

BBO. You have brought this Xmas solitude on yourself.Hope you enjoy reading the religious teaching of the Marquis. It is a tome written for the captive, solitary reader .

DC.Please give your urges a well earned rest today. It is a family time after all.

The only stuffing should be in the Turkey.

Frog. A picture paints a thousand words but if you could learn to write it would be a gift to us all.

Hemlock. Your attempts to help the lost souls on here are admirable ,but ultimately futile.Carry on regardless.

BJDEE.May you receive one today.

Red and Bluebeard.Lay off the sauce mate.

Earl. Stay safe and keep away from the Velvet Undergrads in Smith st today. There is a bad batch in town.

Moonie - I hope you are over the trauma BBO has caused us all.

Anyone else I forgot, see you at the Gat for a party tonigh.Top floor,up the back.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road for their 3rd interstate game in 4 weeks as they face a fit and firing Crows at Adelaide Oval. With finals now out of our grasps what are you hoping from the Dees today?

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
