At least we've always known that when Joe Cocker leaves this mortal coil, it would be straight out of the bathroom window.

[cue: picture of a bathroom window from the frog]

No WJ, Toady has seen the error of his ways and will now restrict his use of images.

Love has lifted him up where he belongs.

The true spirit of Christmas ! You are a shining light Biff.

BTW. I was never a great Joe Cocker fan but unless my memory is totally burnt didn't Joe have an ...ahhh .. medication malfunction and fluffed a concert at the Palais. Early 80's?

There's a great B&W photo of Joe Cocker being dragged barefoot and topless out of an expensive hotel by a couple of cops after a drug bust in Australia, they found a sckeric of dope on him. In true nanny state fashion, the media were tipped of before to make an example of Cocker.

Pick any concert between 1970 and 1990 Bbo and your comment is probably true.

The most astounding thing about Joe to me is that he lived to 70 and then died of Lung Cancer.

I am amazed his liver did not give out at 35.

Livers are very resilient creatures OD. My doctor regularly sends off samples of my high octane blood for liver function tests. She is always astounded by the (healthy) results ................... and so am I TBH!

Smoked more mull listening to Joe than most so called rock stars.

Thought he did the job well when the mood presented.

Now locked away in secure farmhouse eating biscuits and other rubbish OD.

Christ its a horrible choice between getting fat or smoking.

Hope and think the right road was taken, but where is this need coming from?

I definitely remember Joe Cocker having to cancel a show (during my exams!!!) in the mid-70s because a lot of things went wrong. They then rescheduled the show to start at midnight after he had already done a show earlier that night, which was a spectacular success.

And I'm pretty certain it worked so well that a few other bands did the same when they ran out of dates for an extra show. I remember trying to find my way home at 2.30am from Festival Hall after an awesome midnight show by, of all people, the Eagles (probably because it was their first tour after Joe Walsh joined) in about 1975, not long after Cocker did it.

In those days a Joe show could be sublime, or it could be a mess. He was never "so-so".

Hit a plateau at 3.5kg's lost.

Start again in the New Year --- very few people lose weight over Christmas for some reason. Can't for the life of me work out why, though ... :)

Bad time of the year for me.

Really starting to pine for a durrie right now.

About 187 days and counting.

But brother please spare me a ciggie.

Stay off those cancer sticks. That way lies the road to the Gat, and a close encounter with Biff. Enough said! :):)

Thought provoking,the meeting with biff.

Wonder if you would count your fingers after the shaking of hands.

Can see the biffa now, ciggie behind each ear and packet of B@H up the Tshirt sleeve.

Also think he would go around the tables emptying slops into his glass.

That might explain the hep a,b,c and the black teeth.

Very cruel summation Jazza.

My teeth are more of a dark orange.

You also overestimate my wealth.

Kerry Packer was the last Australian to be able to afford packets of smokes.

I have been relegated to the rollies for years.

Smooth,mellow, manly,beautiful smokes.

Plenty of sticks where the hick lives. Ironically, or maybe logically, Jazzy O's outpost becomes increasingly remote every year as more and more humans move away from him in disgust.

Not a good fisherman,Better bait needed.

Carlton are trying really hard to bump up their membership numbers, with lots of publicity about how good they are going ATM. Daisy and Kreuzer are being pumped up by MM, who is adopting a new, ultra media friendly personality.

It is sickening.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
