Ok. How many D'Landers (no matter how oblique) can be found in this sentence?

"Under a waxing gibbous, the nutty Ronald Dale beat a bearded devilish Flash to jump the fence in iconic fashion, to be treated as a hero with an Irish beef meal, a side of legumes and a choice of Guinness, VB or fruit punch."

Moonshadow, nutbeam, Red and Bluebeard, beelzebub, Picket Fence, Old Dee or Young Dee, Curry or Beer, Biff, hogans_heroes, Bring Back Barassi, Whispering_Jack, Redleg, jumbo returns, s-t-i-n-g-a, Lucifer's Hero, rpfc, Bitter but optimistic, emubitter, coconut, Footynut, Hardnut, pineapple dee, agent_orange

Well Fl og, that adds quite a few more, several lateral ones which I hadn't thought of but which fit the clues nevertheless. And there's also a few on your list that I have no idea how you arrived at.

Still around 4 or 5 that I had in mind which haven't been spotted yet.

Plenty of time for more guesses from others. Will aim to post some clues to my list later tonight.

Had any good banana cake recently, Redleg? Where can you get the best banana smoothie these days?

Had some carrot cake the other night but, as I have put on a fair bit of weight, it might be my last piece for a while.

One of the best banana smoothies is from the The Spot, a cafe in Balaclava Road near Hawthorn Road, in North Caulfield.

You inspired me with your previous comments.

As you said we are the chosen ones.

Now if that could only motivate the MFC team!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
