The Good

Rallying after it looking like the floodgates were opening

Jones

Jamar to Moloney

Watts

Jurrah

The Bad

The first five minutes

The opening concession of goals in each quarter

The Ugly

Being stuck at work instead of being able to go to the footy

My face when I loaded the scores 5mins into the first quarter

The Newman hospital kick

I feel your pain. Perhaps I should become a Collingwood supporter so I can justify becoming unempolyed. :)

oh also in the good

Pia Miller at a Dees game again?

I'm sure the fine print on that deal said we got to keep Pia...

Jarryd Rivers played a cracker today.

Jordie x 2. Both were in everything

Trengove cramps in the last Q then lays a perfect tackle.

Cale Morton is still a major worry.

Jack Watts goal at 3/4 time...Forward pressure

Liam J's sealer in the last Quarter.

Good

Jack Watts tackling Houli 7 second to go. Collecting the ball, knocking him aside and snapping a goal on the buzzer.

61,900 crowd - was nice to play and win with a big attendance.

Fighting hard when challenged (this win is better than winning by 89 points against Freo)

The Lads congratulating each other after a good disposal into the forward 50.

Bad

Strauss - he looked lost at sea today.

Miller - falling over in the Tiger's forward line.

The Ugly

Richmond supporters whinging BALL even when a player is tackled within a second of having the pill.

50m penalties were a joke today too.

Cale Morton - he can get the pill but gees his turn overs were costly.

GOOD

Supporters giving Liam standing ovation after his goal in the last quarter

Seeing Skulls hi-5 other players and whispering "dont believe everything you read"

BAD

Mortons turning the ball over - again

UGLY

Kickouts - still make me nervous

GOOD

Scully in Red and Blue

BAD

Scully not wearing red and blue

UGLY

Scully wearing other colours.

The Good.

Teamwork

Jurrah tackling, and 2nd efforts

Watts' 3rd quarter goal (and the fellow Dees supporter who said to me "that ain't no Brighton Grammar boy any more)

Our forward structure

Very dependable back six

Scully's 10 possessions in the last quarter when everyone else slowed and/or cramped

Moloney and Jamar

The Bad

Set shots at goal. I think we missed 7 gettable shots, it might have been 8

Richmond supoprters who believe if you tackle someone with the ball it MUST be holding the ball. #$*@!%$y frustrating.

Car park being full. Got to Punt Rd by 1.05pm, drove past the closed car park gates at 2pm, had to park in Lennox St, missed first 15 minutes. ended up sitting so high up I could see over the southern stand.

The Ugly

Cale Morton's first kick. In regard to kicking skills, Morton has Darren Gaspar and Ben Holland writen all over him.

Last 3 games I have been to it has been shut at least 10-15 before the start of the game. Not worth the time of day if you're not getting there early now in my opinion.

That said, I'm not that far from a station.

Good:

Watts showing signs of dominance.

Forward 50 tackling record under Bailey. Should set the standard.

Ruck combo.

Nicholsons ability to break the lines.

Bad:

First 15 minutes.

All aspects of mortons game.

Jurrahs finishing in the third.

Ugly:

Umpiring

The Jamar Knee but have been a god send. Our ruck stocks now look really good.

Good point.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
