Mark Ricciuto thinks, eh? That in itself should be front page news but alas it would just be another media lie.

Dear Port,

Not for all of the Tea in China.

Respectfully,

The MFC

Honestly, they'd have to give us their first & second round picks plus Troy Chaplin for me to even CONSIDER it worthwhile.

And here's the 'story':

Get Jamar

Methinks Roo should stick to his used car sales, and whiney commentary voice he provides for Foxtel. Some of his other alternatives are laughable - Mark Blake? Will Minson? Cam Wood?

Didn't Jamar come very close to heading back to S.A a few years back?

Bit off topic, but the fact Jamar isn't in the leadership group is nothing short of joke.

It is bloody ridiculous, he is pretty much the perfect role model for the younger boys; he works hard all day and doesn't give up like others already in the leadership group (don't think I need mention his name).

As bad as we are going right now, I cannot see any feasible reason as to why Jamar would want to go to Port Adelaide. If I were a footy player, Port would be the last place I would want to end up.

So why didn't the other players vote Jamar into the leadership group? Maybe they didnt think he was......

Good point, and it makes me wonder. Maybe they thought one good season didn't make a player/leader. Possibly next year?

Even though it is considered an honour to be in the leadership group, some players prefer not to be, it still doesn't stop them from being a good example, it's just they probably feel they don't need the extra responsibility...Jsmar has always struck me as someone who gives 100% to the footy but it is not the be all and end all of his life..perhaps he let his feelings be known that he wasn't interested

To be fair he was very good when not injured in 2009.

May i point out who they did vote in...and how marvellous that group is !!

Why any high earning individual would want to leave the city of Melbourne for that backwater Adelaide is beyond me.

Besides he just started a PT business down here and at the age of 27, i doubt he would be going back to Port to win a flag.

Maybe... just maybe... the players vote on who is the best leader at the club, and this isn't just limited to performance on game day..?

I know Rush goes out there and gives his all - he's a warrior - but maybe he's not overly vocal and supportive of the young kids?

Maybe he's a bit of an introvert?

Nothing wrong with it.

If he leads purely by example, having the title of "member of the leadership group" won't change that in any way.

He's not restricted from leading because he's not in that little clique.

Good points.

Although a i had to look twice at the nic name. Almost thought you were talking about someone else in the leadership group for a moment given his recent efforts and attitude on the field

Wonder what's gotten in to him of late. Was always pretty upbeat and positive or was i imagining things?

So much rests on the Russian for us going forward. Can't see the MFC making that mistake regardless of what's offered.

I wonder whether the players would vote the same guys in ...TODAY...given half the chance ?

He's staying, but let's play a game of 'hypothetical' and pretend that Melbourne does trade him to Port. What would you think would be fair?

I'd start the bidding at Jackson Trengove and their 1st round pick. Of course we'd be completely screwed for awhile without a decent ruckman on our list but that would be bloody nice compensation.

For what Melbourne need? Either...

- Jackson Trengove and a first-rounder

- Troy Chaplin and a first-rounder

- Dean Brogaan and a second round and a late pick

If that were a real situation, the last thing we'd need is a young player. We need all the experience we can muster, it would have to be an on-trade for another top-notch experienced ruckman and given that Jamar is just about the best going round I can't bring myself to name someone suitable. If this were real, I think I'd jump on the suicide train that travels 'round these parts.

My understanding is that under the Leading Teams model, the LG may be reviewed and changed (Edit - mid season)...

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
