We don't deserve to win this.

Yup.

We may well run it out better, but we've been the lesser side.

Monfries held off the contest and gets a soft free. would have had a shot anyway.

45 meters. Hits the post.

16 points to the bombers

Maric!!!!! That's what he was recruited for.

Maric!!!!!!! goal!!!!!!!

Jurrah creating from half back and then dunny gets it to Maric!

10 points down.

Bombers have 3 men injured. (why dont they just sub???)

Moloney and Trengove are leading our possessions. Sylvia and Grimes going well too.

3 Qtr time

10 points down last quarter. Certainly agree that we do not deserve to win, but might have the legs to run it out better.

Yup.

We may well run it out better, but we've been the lesser side.

I disagree. We have won two of the three quarters played so far and the game has run in ebbs and flows. Sure, they have played the prettier football, but we haven't stayed with them because of their mistakes (they aren't making many) and we haven't had the advantage of more frees (they are ahead on that score as well I would think), we have simply played good football in bursts.

Maric playing for a spot, and doing well!

Not sure whether i want to win this one or not.

We do not deserve a victory so far....maybe at games end my mind will change.

Another magnificent umpiring decision.

Will run over the top of them. And if your in front at the end you deserve to win.

That is true. I should have articulated myself a bit better and said something along the lines of we are not playing great football and we have done a lot wrong. But if we win, we win.

bombers by 16. must have missed a goal

ryder kicks another. bombers by 22

i just heard "davey limping off with ankle or hammy". ours or theirs?

Ours.

22 points now - game over. Off to scrubber ovals next week.

Here come the injuries

Not sure whether i want to win this one or not.

I was thinking that. Even if by some miracle we won, we're not winning next week.

No Jamar, no demons... This will be his second season as our most important player.

That's ok though. If you're going to play Martin and Spencer I'd rather they did it now than in the real season.

Oh well. One more month of boredom.

Bail is pushed in the back but gets called for holding the ball

Davey is on for bombers. hope ours isnt hurt.

no jamar ? did I miss something. Im not happy with this I know its the care factor cup but a winning culture breeds success and unlike previous years we have said we want to win yet with close to full strength we put in this tripe performance.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
