Right

So all off season we have been stoked on seeing these new jumpers, the launch was wonderful, they photographs too..all the marketing stuff over the off season was brilliant. But I have just looked at the HUN photos and some posted by people today and I am sorry, but unless I am going colour blind, those new jumpers are 100% pink or fuscia at best. It's a joke guys! Essendon and Sydney jumper manufacturer's have no problems getting the red right, why us?

If anyone needs to see the photos go here: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/gallery-e6frf9o6-1225999604981?page=16

If that is red then I am Keith Richards. Look forward to opening the paper every weekend to see the team of the PINK AND THE BLUE! At least we can wear these for the cancer clash without having to manufacture something new! JOKE!

The socks look red but I agree the jumpers look pinkish. Could be something to do with the reflective properties of the material affecting the camera.

The jumpers on display today definitely had a pinkish hue to it.

I even heard a club admin person say the same and that they weren't happy about it.

Having seen the jumper I am not happy about the red colour and from far away it looks like the Swans jumper. The blue on the V should be more prominent to make it stand out more.

Having said that the white jumper is awful and the clash strip should be red.

They do look a little pinkish. Definitely not the colour of their socks but that might have to do with something from the material point of view.

But Cam Schwab did say, bit by bit, inch by inch, regarding the blood red colour. Fwiw, the top I bought (faulty) pre-Christmas is blood red and not "pinkish".

Wasn't there a known issue with the first delivered guernseys ? If they aren't blood red then quite frankly the club ought to chuckem back at NB with a please explain .. And FIX !!!

I would hope the guernseys used today were the 'faulty' ones initially produced by New Balance.

Hopefully it can be rectified before the season starts.

Seriously couldn't agree more. None of this, "oh well they promise to work on the material over the next summer and we will make do with these"

I am sick of these apparel muppets. Seriously, they can't do a bloody thing as directed and love charging fane out the @rse for cheaply manufactured goods. The club should put a rocket up 'em.

Seriously, whoever designed those clash strips didn't bother putting any thought into it either. They stole ideas of posters on this site. Tried to improve it and make it more 'edgy' and as Demonland commented lost it a little.

But, honestly, that is not blood red and someone should have photographed the jumpers on a player in the open daylight before approving them. What the whole things tells me is, whoever controls the MFC merchandising/apparel show is a lazy sod who doesn't think hard enough.

Send em back...i want RED.

Schwabby, if you are reading this, please give us your honest thoughts. We appreciate your hard work and honesty, but something didn't look like what you guys were hoping for.

The faults you mention were nothing to do with the red V mickhrocks1. It was about the logo and the stars. Unless there is another issue I don't know about.

I always thought our previous jumpers, even up until last year, looked much more red in person than on the telly.

Especially the Sunday 7 games, they looked very pink. I'm wondering if this is a similar problem? Jaded?

It's possible that the exposure on the Camera was not set up correctly, as RED is always the first colour to Faulter.

I have not seen the new jumpers with my own eyes yet, so i will reserve judgement, but i do hope we have Blood red on our jumpers on Gameday Round 1.

I've said this many times before on this forum, but people just have no idea how hard it is to get a good red.

That coupled with the fact they don't really know what they want...

Pleasing some people is a nightmare.

Who?

They! You know... People!

Look, red is notorious for being a colour where people get this idea in their head what they think they want, but it is not achievable.

When presented with the options, eventually they all ask where is the darker intense red.

Which doesn't really exist.

At least not in the form they envisage.

Sometimes it's like being asked to design a round square.

well if thats the case put the jumpers back to last years red coz at least it was less pink!

the socks are the perfect colour

It's the material not the colour. The sheen of the fabric makes it look pink. The socks are dark red, it's the same colour just a different fabric. I say get the older members to knit them jumpers. Then we'd get the red we want.

I was at the game and the jumpers look pink, both my wife and I commented the same and I actually thought they were using last years jumpers for the cancer when I first got there until the players ran towards where I was standing...

Not happy with the colour but looks like we are stuck with it

it is easier to get a blood red from Wool than it is synthetic materials, that we have now-a dark blood red is possible, but not easy to achieve.

We still have trouble colour grading reds for TV transmissions today.

But its darker!

Didn't supporters want a darker red?

That's the problem with listening to what people say they want, when they don't really know what they want.

Darker red usually ends up looking more fuchsia or maroon, rather than what people perceive in their mind as being red.

So you want to make it lighter now..?

Anyway, in this case the medium also is having a major impact on the colour.

I don't think we'll be able to get it "right" without changing the material used for the jumpers.

Essendon, Bulldogs, Sydney, St Kilda, Adelaide don't end up with pink.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
