What about Jack Anthony, a man forgotten. Fits the bill for what we need.

True, proven shot for goal, just no space at Collingwood .. And before people say anything remembering Medhurst couldnt get a game either and he is handy

I cant believe he hasnt been spoken about, can play fwd or back, and has plenty of footy left in him

Too much of a confidence player for me. When he is on he looks great but goes missing far too often.

No way.

He's not right in the head.

I've heard he has some issues, but so did many, apparently, if you can believe people, he's a different Kat, but so is Brett Kirk.

He's very mobile & athletic with leap etc. Could he be another Tarrant, uncut.

It just makes my footy imagination roll, wondering if he could become an attacking CHB.

That can be so when your the hunted, but can change if your the defender, then attack.

Worth a look. Has kicked goals in september-so if he cannot get a game at the Filth because they have too many options then he would be hungry.

Is he a liability upstairs? is that why he is not getting a game now??

Neither are you!

Yeah but with me it's in a good way.

(and no one is campaigning for me to acquired as a player.)

A medium sized player who can play forward or back?

Is a straight kick at goal. That's about it.

Good VFL player; nothing there for us.

Edit: FHS, who would he replace/put out of the team?

Yeah, 192cms & 92 kgs,,, a bit smaller than I realised.

I can remember a while ago hearing he was not liked by his team mates and he rocked upto an event he wasn't invited to (someone's wedding i think - but i could be totally off the mark[bad memory]) said hi and then left. Can anyone recall some of the weird things he's done?

Jack Anthony should remain a forgotten man. Pass

Pass, would rather develop a young tall option in the draft then trade for him.

Played 3 finals last year.

Got 7,4,3 disposals.

Marked the ball once a game in all three games.

Kicked one goal v crows. one goal v saints. Two goals wow.

He isn't getting a game cause he is not that good.

He is a lead, mark and goal player. Offers nothing else. He can't become a link player up the ground, he is useless when the ball hits the ground, not great as a one out contested mark.

Easy to shut down and you'll be effectively playing one man short. Brad Miller without the hot wife.

In no way what we need. He is far from the big, tall, contested marking bail out option that Bails has been speaking of. Just another lead up forward, and we have 4 better than him in this role as is.

My memory might be failing me here, but wasn't one of those goals to win a game, but after the siren from a weak free kick?

So he didn't even earn that one.

I don't think he is the type of player we are looking to recruit, but I reckon he is going a bit underrated on this thread.

Nice pair of hands, good on a lead, and great kick for goal. Kicked 50 goals last year as a 22 year old. Had a serious shoulder injury in pre-season this year, and from all reports is taking time to recover.

Yeah, but how would he develop as a defender.

what you've said above could be Tarrants early resume'.

Goes missing, and drops his head far to often to fit the bill at Melbourne. I don't recall ever seing Anthony play well in a losing team, and IMO that's exactly the sort of player we should be avoiding as we build our list for the future. Anyway, as others have pointed out, he is not the big KPF that most people think we need.

Doesn't do anywhere near enough. A nice kick for goal, and that's it.

Plus he's just another medium-sized forward. And we don't need his ability to defend.

No. He's not big enough, strong enough or good enough to play in our best 22.

I have issues with the size of his forehead. It is just abnormally large. That concerns me.

Also, he's not very good.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
