Biggest disappointment today was the Jets not ticking over 50. Had their chance to late but took the knee. Weak. Does keep with the philosophy of not running up the score.

I've always hated this concept in the NFL... Really don't understand it, put them to the sword!

Might post up the lines late Tuesday's to get it out of the way ... some like to post their tips early as well.  2 points on offer this week as it's the first of the bonus weeks - other bonus weeks ... 5,  7,  9,  11,  13,  15 & 17.  Good luck!

Hope it's a good building year for J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!! Darnold has looked promising so far. Was hoping we would get Mack he is exactly what we need but oh well, Bears lucked out with that one.

Top rate start for your Jets and a real good start for Darnold - got picked off with a return TD with his first ever throw but he joins exalted company in Brett Favre in that department.  Did well from then on though.

Highest winning margin (31pts) in Darnold's first game too since ... Tom Brady in 2001.  Heady stuff!

Your defence took Detroit apart with 4 picks as well.  Apparently they got a read on Stafford's play-calling (hand signals) so kudos.

I already hate the the new helmet rule but more so the new rule of not landing your body weight on a QB. that hit on Rothelsberger was perfect, if Ben holds it that long h3 deserves the hit and the player who prob weighs half as much as Big Ben landing on him.

That rule is absolute rubbish at first I thought they were being called for late hits but then I realised no it's every tackle you're not allowed to land on the QB. Youve gotta protect vulnerable players but that's just swinging it far too far in the QBs favour. NFL want to protect their skill players though to make it more interesting for tv

Oh and what a shellacking by the Jets!!! Couldn't believe it especially after Saviour Sam threw a pick 6 on the first play if his career. I can't remember the Jets ever putting up that many points - they probably have I just can't remember.

Gonna be a long season for the Lions was nice to see Patricia looking like a stunned mullet on the sidelines, not so easy without Belichick/Brady helping you out

Yep our D was great, Derron Lee (i think it was) got a pick 6 of his own and we also returned a punt for a TD which hasn't happened for a long time.

Yeah you’re supposed to apparently roll out mid tackle. Real tough to do for an edge rusher going at full bore!

Question for you all.

Brady or Rodgers both at their best.

Brady although Rodgers is still Super-Great

Brady (thanks to Beluchick to a large extent) has had a lit more success and that matters.

And Beluchick is the greatest coach of the modern era ... in any sport,  anywhere.

Agree, but if you put both in the same team with the same coach then I think Rodgers is the better QB. Baluchick and the team he consistently put on the field is superior to the packers b7t in my eyes Rodgers is the better QB and more likely to win you games, especially when down.

Maybe ... but it's a hypothetical so we have almost certainly never seen Brady's true brilliance 24/7

When he is called upon he has been brilliant.

So Brady wins out because of the success that cannot be ignored.

And we can't also can't ignore the 'Super-fan' element that surrounds Rodgers from non- Green Bay fans and the resentment and dislike that can often surround Brady.

So there is bias involved but not from this here realist ??

And Joe Montana could well beat the both of them!

In the purest form of the question which would probably be based on talent. It's Rodgers

Yeah very true. There are so many variables and it all depends on how we define best. It's also important to note Gorgoroth has said at their best and not in general. This is how I see it in general though:

If we're talking both QBs purely on talent and arm it's easily Rodgers

If we're talking about football IQ and line of scrimmage it's easily Brady

If we're talking about clutch performers in all weather at any venue it's Brady.

If we're talking about the talent around them well Brady has played with 1 HOF receiver in his whole career and when he did, broke the season TD record. While Aaron has usually had Pro Bowl Wide outs.

Leadership - Brady by a stretch

Long story short: On their day Rodgers is better. But Brady is the better QB.

Clutch performance I would rate Rodgers.

GB better WR, agree, Pats better TE and much better oline

That's fair enough, he is a great clutch performer. Reason I've gone with Brady is the playoff record and for venues and conditions there's one stat that bothers me with Rodgers. Win/loss at Lambeau - 61-16, win/loss on the road - 43-39.

Pats definitely much better O-line over the years, that's the secret sauce. Aaron has had some shocking lines.

Aesthetically pleasing - Rodgers by a street

Overall effectiveness - Brady easily

Most effective = Best.  In my opinion = Yes.

I'm along that line of thinking too. Love Rodgers but I'm a massive Brady nut.

Great question by Gorg all the same

The other part of the argument is all the new gun QB's just starting out or newly established

Protecting the QB's has its own rewards.

I’m massive on getting good Oline. I watched a crap oline let people smash Bradford and co for years. Goff gets great protection the last year and a bit.

To have a clean pocket means everything for a QB. For instance I think Dak Prescott is a decent QB. Will never be a star but I think he can turn out to be a good B or B+ QB. That line has made him look like Brady in recent years.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
