How long to the announcement from the Suns that he has joined them?

How long to the announcement from the Suns that he has joined them?

seeing as their season is over, maybe in the coming week.

Expect a presser in a few days to allow for the Mad Monday cobwebs to wear off.

Expect the next announcement to contain a few names.

Might wait another two weeks so that they can get Harbrow at the same presser.

On the other hand, they might like to spread them out to keep their team in the news.

Touche.

If you're big signings are Bock (past it), Krakouer (average at best) and Brown (a thug with little skill) you're not doing great. Of course they'll probably add Rischitelli, Brennan and maybe Ablett to that which adds a whole lot of class but they're not exactly swooping on the cream of the AFL crop at the moment.

For sure. As the teams fall, players having finished will be named (and in some cases like Bock & Krakeour; shamed).

That is interesting. Clubs are happy to get on the high horse and condemn players for leaving but have no qualms in delisting or seeking to trade them.

Good post.

Greg Buckle has reported on AAP that the Suns are about to announce that they have signed Campbell Brown.

The Suns released a statement on Monday night saying they would "make an uncontracted player announcement" on Tuesday morning.

While Brown is a valued player, it's believed the Hawks simply couldn't match the financial terms put forward by the cashed-up Queenslanders.

Exactly. The "sorry, it's business" line does not seem to cut both ways.

Interesting that the mood of the Hawks fans on the various forums seem to be pretty accepting of Brown's decision.

I don't think it is that surprising. They have known for some time now, and they probably understand what he offers and what else others can offer from their list back or forward. Weighing up his age and the influence or contribution he has made recently for Hawthorn, they can probably understand Brown's situation; not forgeting that he was reportedly on the table last trade.

Bet they wish they did use him in the Burgoyne trade.

AND / OR

maybe he objected to being traded to Port because he was already set on being at the Suns.

Brown flying to Gold Coast today. Final discussion, then announcement tomorrow?

So if they were going to name one of ours, when do you think this will happen?

Not sure about the announcement coming on TFS but Hutchy will probably announce that Brown's decision to go to the Suns will be announced tomorrow.

I would have thought that if they were taking one of ours it would have been announced by now. Maybe they are now looking at Miller as a result of his two good games for Casey against them. BOG both times.

It was mentioned tonight on the foxtel afl teams program that the hawks coducted their official annual review today. The entire squad was in attendance bar one person... Campbell Brown

We can only hope... Would be best result possible for both the MFC and Miller

Clarkson on Before the Game virtually conceded that Brown is gone and we should know early in the week.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
