That is all. However, I'm worried about Bennell a little bit and would LOVE to see Matty Warnock come back in as his VFL form warrants selection! DEPTHHHHH!

Would love to see Maric get a run, but not sure how he performed for Casey this weekend.

IN: Moloney, Maric

OUT: Jones, Davey (inj.)

Love to see Tapscott or Blease get a run too, as unlikely as it is.

Along with Newton, Maric kicked 3 goals. Solid I believe.

And Jones I don't think will be omitted at all. Tough unit that we need.

Agree on Maric. I saw the scorps game Adam was the standout of the AFL players for mine.

Kyle Cheney may argue that.

OUT: Jones

Eh?

Eh?

Yep. It's just another week of people wishing what will not happen!!! Jones WILL stay put.

Eh?

Only if Moloney comes in.

Someone has to go out.

We need players that can use the footy and we already have Bartram in the side.

Mind you, Jones was pretty good in pieces today.

Only if Moloney comes in.

Someone has to go out.

That someone is the injured Davey!

It's a straight swap in the middle.

OUT: Bartram, Bennell, Davey (Inj), Dunn (could be an injury - he has a broken big toe, has been broken for at least a couple of weeks)

IN (from): Miller (playing for his life), Jetta, Cheney, Maloney, Warnock, Morton.

Everyone will want to be playing in Juniors 250th.

Bennell and Jones out?? Uggghhhh.... Too many stats watchers me thinks... Both those guys will stay put, get used to it.

Long way off, but my prediction would be:

OUT: Davey (inj)

IN: Maric

From what I've seen and heard Moloney will struggle to be right, geez we need him for the clearances though.

I really feel for Cheney and Warnock, hope they don't get too discouraged and stick around with us, just tough to break into that backline.

Be REALLY interested to see if anything different happens though (selection wise) being Junior's big game.

OUT: Davey (injured leg), Jurrah (broken finger), Dunn

IN: Miller, Morton, Moloney, Bate

4 ins for 3 outs...

OUT: Davey, Dunn, Jurrah (all injured)

IN: Marric, Morton, Miller

4 ins for 3 outs...

edited - not sure on Moloney. he has been out a while. We have the same.

I doubt Maric is good enough but deserves the last two games to show his ability.

Theres no point bringing miller in with two games left.

What a great idea, bring Moloney in who has leg problems for the last four weeks, stick him on a plane for an hour and a half, and play him on a quagmire of a ground..........no I don't think so, I can see the team only having one or two changes one for Davey and I think that may be to give Tapscott or Blease a taste, Tapscott was fine at the weekend but didn't play for Casey...maybe freshening him up...........the only other player who I think may be worried is PJ (read his review) not sure of Port's ruck stocks at the moment, so he could be under threat for who I wouldn't like to guess...

Find it hard to believe they just rested Tapscott! Why?

I agree with Moloney he should come back via Casey after 4 weeks out.

Why take Watts to "quagmire of a ground" from the past experience he is next to useless on a heavy ground!

I have watched Blease at Casey he is no where near fit enough for AFL, 2011 for him.

Why do you leave Bennell in he has been marginal for weeks and yesterday poor.

only took 11 posts to mention bartram this week

Bartram's disposal is terrible. If he was over 60% I would be surprised, but besides those stats, his kicking is just horrible and I cringe everytime he has the ball.

That shot at goal he had in the last, which would have given us a damn good chance to win did not even look like it. He had too much time and you could see he was hoping to hell that another option presented itself.

Am I bagging his endeavour? No. His courage, his application? No & no. But don't sit back and hide behind these convictions and accuse others of Bartram bashing as it is just not true.

The guy cannot kick and as a half back flanker/pocket in todays game it is a crucial skill. Too much of the good work he does is undone by this fact.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
