Bailey might be able to solve one of MY headaches.

Play Newton on Brown!!

Now I've been all for playing Newton all year (or most of it) His last chance I beleive this year to prove he is worth keeping. His last 2 games he has been servicable as a fill in ruckman, but so far he still hasnt done enough.

The limited time on the forward line today,he wasnt effective at all.

So IF Brown was to knock him into next year,I can move on.

And stop hoping Newton can step up another level. :)

Edit: typos (getting late)

Today he was superman, fair dinkum could do no wrong.

He's one powerful bloke, once he has got the ball he shows no fear if he is being grabbed at by one, two or three opposition players, he powers through them to hit a target by hand or foot. He & Grimes, early days still, but they must give the guys around them heaps of confidence.

He did lots of amazing things today. My favorite being chasing down Burton on the wing and knocking him off the ball. Then finished with a pin point pass

I thought Burton had him cold but Chip ended up doing it easily. Quality that lad. Pure quality.

Don't think this beast of a man-child is getting enough love on here.

I started a thread before pre-season stating he'd be AA THIS year. Many thought I was silly, and I'm relatively comfortable with my decision at the moment.

I reckon it's one of those awards you have to miss out on once (just in case your season was a fluke, a la Carroll) before you get it, and once you have that spot you'll be in line for it every year til you retire.

He's putting paid to the theory that CAC was a bad recruiter. Chip came out of NOWHERE in the last 2 weeks of his "superdraft" year. Already a sensational selection, and is probably, IMO, our most important defender. With respect to Rivers, Grimes and Warnock.

Frawley is so awesome he could take down Chuck Norris.

Let's take down Brown first...hey that rhymes :D

Body work is just A-grade!

Plays medium to tall and short.

But the best thing about him is he runs forward kicks long or dishes off and runs forward. Thats right not sideways or backwards. but get the ball out of defence with speed.

Grimes as well he has genuine footy smarts. reads play well and then goes wide or down the middle when asked. coaches dream

he's a great bloke too.

I remember at a family day a couple of years ago i was lining up to get some autographs and was just looking around and spotted chip walking in my direction. He saw me and came straight over to me, signed my poster and had a chat (I asked him for his tip for dreamteam). One of the nicest players i've ever met. The fact that i went to school in Ballarat and he's a Ballarat boy makes it even better haha.

I'm wrapped that he's hitting his straps, because i was one of the people defending him when some clowns on this site were saying he was useless and needed delisting (this was a couple of years ago mind you, but it did happen).

Anyway, Chip you are a champ son, keep it up!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
