I know we have all mentioned Bennell shirked an issue, but as I stated on another post, he also took the mark in the squard diving back and almost taking out the goal post. Yes his other effort was poor, but lets hope he learns, he is only a skinny inexperienced player. Give him another 25 games and lets see.

In terms of Bate, he is still unfit, but not as bad as you said Clint. I watched the replay after being at the game and he did a bit more than I thought. Give him to round 4/5 and he will be back to his best.

And back on Bennell, it is funny how people bag him but find excuses for other players if they drop chest marks.

Yeah, some of our players made some mistakes ie Bennell, Scully, Frawley, Bate etc but they were trying to take the game on. I'd much prefer these sorts of mistakes then not going for it at all.

It was an important game yesterday because they proved to themselves that they can compete with the best of the competition. We're not going to play like that all season but it was great to see them compete. I am so bloody excited about our future considering the talent that still to play in that team.

Almost forgot, Brad Green, you bloody beauty.

This leads to my second most loved part of today: when we made mistakes, we learnt from them and improved. Beams beat scully for a goal in the first, 2 minutes later shut him down.

I noticed that. Was very pleasing I thought.

Despite some bad dropped marks, Scully was OK I thought. Has pace and endurance to die for.
