Our continuous injury woes!

As RR has noted, I'm sure continual reviews are done throughout the course of the year and in the event of any injury.

Its just good management.

I think you are judging the club based on your expectations and limited knowledge of what would be done running an AFL club.

As always I accept your points of view- however all that I have said is I hope they DO HAVE A REVIEW & NOW,. I'd prefer them to look at what can be done now so MFC do something about it- rather than RR suggested maybe yearly. It must be destroying his confidence- we may even may have to consider him going to Germany to do what that Geelong footballer had done- think it was Ox's blood injected.

No you're right for the most part on Wonna.

Its all the other crap that makes you melodramatic.

Leave it.

Your entitled to your opinion, but crap is as crap does. I will leave it when others do, otherwise, as some one else said on this very forum, it will be a case of "pots, kettles, black."

I will not be condescended to by anybody, regardless of their designated role.

I was thinking the same thing.

The fact that many guys are having their first full pre-season in a while, and that Wonna looked pretty good, suggests we're doing something right.

As for pre-season injuries, there are 40-odd players on a list. Chances are that some are going to be injured most of the time.

I thought the points were very similar too.

;)

RE: RR, his posts reflect his own opinions unless otherwise stated (just like any mod).

However it is the way they are expressed. One person does not have to feel persecuted or belittled to have or give an opinion.

Nothing like making conclusions without the facts.

i don't believe i was drawing any conclusions. merely stating that i have doubts. it is a gut feeling that i have had since he was appointed at the club. there were murky circumstances about his departure from hawthorn and i merely noted that when he was first appointed.

And to borrow a line from Paul Simon:

"Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest".

That's from Simon ahd Garfunkel's "The Boxer" is it not? Seems an apt song title after reading some of the posts in this thread.

PS. My favourite Paul Simon song is St. Judy's Comet.

PPS. I was at casey last year to see Aussie blitz early and then go off injured. He looked in great nick. If I had known then he would not play for the rest of the season I would have been thoroughly traumatised.

I was hoping he was et for a great year this year. Hopefully this is just a minor setback.

Fair enough. Aside from rumour what are doubts logically based on?

As for "murky circumstances" all there is are rumour and speculation about his departure and its get repeated ad nauseam on this site from time to time that it gathers a false head of truth.

I have read alot of unsubstanted criticism of BB yet to read one informed critique of Bohdan's role. I note his title/role has changed during his time at MFC but most of his detractors would not know what role he does actually fulfill.

As I have said before, if BB is failing his role then he should be held accountable. However this accountability should be based on the facts not on Footy Forum innuendo and scuttlebutt.

Agreed, but we can only offer our opinion based on "limited" knowledge, unless we are in the inner sanctum. Recurring hammys are a problem and on face value, some modification of his program may be warranted.

I have been to the Junction Oval at times and it seemed that they were altering/ changing his running style sometimes learning to run properly can have an impact on different parts of the body.

Similar to what St Kilda is doing with Joel Smith

what with simon buckleys apparent amazement at the different workloads, and indeed work rates, of north melbourne and Collingw&%$ compared to us, and now this, it makes us sound like a bunch of mollycoddled sissies as per Hollywood's post on the17th December definately highlights why I think the club requires a review however the summation on Wonaeamirri's injury shows that he has had a review which seems continuous.

Happy and safe festive season to all.

Just out of general interest when did Simon Buckley come out and say that

Do not know- as stated as per Hollywood's post on Demonology

With all due respect, running out games has not been one of our problems over the last 2 seasons and I think competitiveness has increased dramatically.

Even though preseason is started early, training sessions are spaced out for the players, giving them more free time and keeping them fresh.

A gradual increase in intensity is sensible as otherwise the players would be burnt out late in the season.

Fitness is not an issue.

I wouldn't be worried about what Buckley says - no doubt he would be hurting from his delisting.

You maybe and most probably right- however it would not hurt to have a re think- is all I am recommending or requesting..

Once again - do you really think they don't do regular reviews?

You don't see the logic?!

If they did a review, Wonaeamirri never would have done his hamstring.

But who will review the reviewers?

My head hurts...

But who will review the reviewers?

I dont know...

Coastguard?

But who will man our shores from forgeign invasions that have been so prevalent recently?

Wonaeamirri while he is holed up injured?

He is from the Tiwi Islands...

So a review would save Aussie from being injured, but would also leave Australia open to invasion from afar? Dangerous game we play at the MFC

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
