How about mark coughlan in the psd,he is only 26, former B&f. just got over his long term injuries, i thought it was very poor of Richmond getting rid of him after every thing he has gone through, he can still play.

I think he's retired?

THE story in the hun about richmonds delisting that he was delisted

Richmond have delisted him for a reason, might be a risk.

wouldn't mind him if he is fit and healthy, other wise it's a no from me.

His disposal wasn't good enough any more, battled hard though, not teh type of player we require

Nearly 28 and just way too injury prone, Great at his best but that was five years ago. NO THANKS.

Under no circumstances will we pick up recycled players from Richmond!!!

Richmonds fringe players are not going to help us win.

NO for Coughlan

Richmonds fringe players are not going to help us win.

.................

Very hard to disagree with that assessment.

Richmonds fringe players are not going to help us win.

I don't think that assertion is entirely true actually. There's been plenty of occasions where a peripheral player in a bad side has gone on to be solid in a good side.

That said, I don't think Coughlan is going to be one of them and I'd pass. Pre-knees he looked the goods though, but isn't that a story we know all too well.

Yes, because Geelong picking up Brad Ottens was such a big mistake. Or Port picking up Dave Rodan, another massive blunder.

There is talent on their list, the football department may be up the creek but there is still some decent personnel on that list. It's extremely difficult to look good in a lousy team and factor in his bad run with injuries. I'm not saying we should pick up Coughlan but you can't dismiss players because they come from a crappy team. That's pure ignorance.

Looked a quality player until injured.

Poor kid, from all reports he's a quality person so he should do well in the future.

OK I'll give you Rodan but Ottens was not recycled....they got two first round picks for him.

Ben Holland anyone?

Benny Holland was a good player for us, not the greatest. But he had a big Heart in that Tank of his.

Coughlan would be worth a look, but only after extensive medial checks.

He Had loads of Talent, i haven't seen enough of him play to know whether he can still cut it.

Worth a look but that's all.

Richmond have talent in their side. it's just when they all play for Richmond it disappears!!

If a player plays for a team then goes to another, it's recycling, despite circumstances.

we do not need Richmond's outcasts.

They're side is lacking in depth already, and people want to take they're worst players that they delist??

please no

You've missed a fair amount of sarcasm there RR.

Yeah it was a sarcastic comment. Was making a point of Richmond actually having decent guys on their list, with the problem being they are camouflaged by the modern day crapness of the club. Rodan is a prime example of a player being rated as rubbish, going to a half decent team at Port Adelaide and playing the type of football that straight up made the doubters and Richmond look stupid. I threw Ottens in there, knowing he was traded but he's a premiership ruckman, it strengthens the case.

Fair enough Deez Nutz.

Mea culpa. I will delete my post.

But in regard to Rodan. He is good value for pick 86. But is he the sort of guy that is critical to your future. No. Rodan has a couple of tricks to his bow but for mine he goes missing against good opposition. Hell Richmond have stacks of one and two trick ponies that do exactly that and Rodan was superfluous to their needs. Full marks for Rodan getting the most out of his game. Want him at MFC. No thanks.

I agree Richmond have some good players on their list despite the debacle of Miller and Wallet.

Yeah he's great value at pick 86, not much of a gamble but I think guys like that are what make lists. If you get enough players like that, then there is genuine competition to get a spot in the seniors and for those that already have spots to maintain them, the work rate lifts. If you rely on just having certain starters, they can easily become complacent and things like what happened with Dal Santo last year will start happening. I'm sure that's why Brisbane picked up guys like Buchanan and Staker, players that fly under the radar somewhat and aren't flashy, but will add a lot to the depth to the team. Andrew Raines is another former Tiger to watch out for, I'm confident he will produce the footy he is capable of at the Lions.

The quality of your list is driven from your top six not your depth.

Staker and Buchanan have been traded for to make an impact now with Brown and Black at their prime. They cant sit around and develop kids off the youth list for 4 to 5 years. Some traded player will perform many dont. Time will tell. Rodan is a stocking filler. Might give something and we got him for nix. Complacency is a different issue to talent. Del Santo is a talented but lazy and selfish footballer.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
