I don't know way everyone wants to get rid of valenti, yes he is a midget, but in this game they always say that all types can play, short tall smart, stupid.if you are under 180 cm tall recruiter don't want to know you, unless you are a true native, look at SAM Mitchell he is a midget, recruiter did not want to know him, he was rookie listed, he was a ball magnet but because of his height, he was almost over look, valenti is the same type of player, he is a ball magnet, and that can never be underestimated, look at Greg williams, slow short but same how he always found the ball, libba is a another example, because of his height he was overlooked, when he had his chance he won brownlow, recruiter have to look harder and stop being sheep, there is gold in them hills you just have to look for it.

Also i think more 21 22 year old players need to be recruited, lots of kids are not as good at 18 as they are at 21,there has been lots of good player over looked. at 18

It's not that people want to get rid of him desperately, so much as there is no room for him on the list. We'll need 7 spots on the list, minimum, for 1, 2, 11, 18, 34, PSD, and Spencer; Robbo, the Ws and Brock give us 4 spots, so we still need another 3 spots. Valenti's a rookie in his second year, it's either onto the main list or out for him. If we were to promote him we'd have to find an additional delistee. So would you rather have Valenti or someone like Bartram or Buckley? That's the situation.

Do your research - Mitchell went at pick 36 in the 2001 "Superdraft", not a bad effort

Well on that basis....

Lets evaluate those players?

Valenti - A la Sam Mitchell, sometimes people who get overlooked time and time again and finally make it play for their lives everytime the get on the field..In the games Valenti has been called upon, he is a good in and under player..Strong, fairly quick, and he's decision making is excellent..

Bartram - Started his career as a tagger, is a decent run with player, but lately has been played as a HB...And with respect to Clint with the passing of his father, but he has been ordinary at best in the last couple of seasons..Yes he is still young, but i think he makes very poor decisions by foot and by hand..And personally don't see the value with him at the club...If he is a run with player, i think Dunn is better than that and can hurt you the other way..Clint cant do this..

Buckley - This guy should not be considered...Last season Bucks showed he has searing pace..and when fully fit he is that midfielder we need running the lines...Should not even be in discussion..Bails has said throughout the season that he is an exciting player and he has been cut down with a groin problem all year..He has massive X factor..

Buckley can go he is so overrated by people on this site,as for bartim he has no up side, valenti does he is hardnut, buckley has no guts seen him play never gets the hard ball get he is a receiver, never tackles, lets his opponent first at the ball he is scared of a contest.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
