Also, I have heard a whisper from a reliable source, that Flash has re-signed with the Dees. If this is true, I hope the club announces it soon. This will dampen the embers of Brock's departure. Let's hope we hear something soon from the club on this one.

Its hardly a coincidence that Bailey goes away on holiday after the conclusion of the season when the players are also away.

And its not a coincidence that trade week and the draft occur shortly after the completion of the finals, when he & the players are likely to be away.

But i think its a stretch to suggest the club has somehow made designs for Bailey to be overseas during this episode, for whatever reasons you may be alluding to...

The trading and list management strategies would've been formed throughout the course of this season and previous to this, in consultation with him.

None of these decisions are made on a whim.

And finally, these decisions, whilst Bailey has some input, are not his to make.

I'm sure there would've been a few international phone calls, but in the end this is down to Tim Harrington doing what he is paid to do.

Oh yeah, I understand. I took that as read anyway. Its been put forward a few times already that Brock was unhappy with Bailey and is a factor for him leaving.

I honestly think Bailey has been coaching the team to develop and to be assessed this season, rather than purely coaching to win.

Or at least, winning was not the highest priority, even if it was one.

I can understand Brock not being happy with a negating role or being played in positions he felt uncomfortable, but i think this has also shown me a side of him I didn't realise was there.

I thought he'd be happy to fill whatever role was asked of him by the coach. Obviously not.

I can understand frustration if he was having no succes in a foreign role, but I guess I would've also expected him to be able to accomplish the task set for him.

I think it has just highlighted deficiencies in his game and made it easier to let go.

Even Ross Lyon & Mark Thompson would have some players that would find it hard to like them.

I tend to agree...if Bails has a wiff and was determiend to retain Brocks services then he'd be here. Obviously it wasnt all as happy camping at the Junction Oval as we may have thought..lol.

Agree, the deal happened far too quickly for it not to have been considered. Brock wanting out may have come as a surprise, but it was a surprise that had been planned for, if that makes sense. Responsible list management at its best.

I for one am immensely impressed and comforted to know that the club is not only proactive with respect to its destiny but that we no longer see our selves as poor reactionaries.
