Let's just say there is no more trading, we could potentially have a draft outcome like this!

1. Scully

2. Trengove

11. Panos

18. Jetta

2 quality (goal kicking) mids

Our big forward that everyone is asking for with this pick

A speedy wingman to complement Scully and Trengove

SOLD!!!

WTF? Panos? NO WAY.

Have seen him play quite a few times in the sanfl reserves and hardly got the ball.

I, like many others on this site, have not seen many of these players outside of the Carnival and should not really be commenting.

I'll back BP.

What about Jack Grimes younger brother. Is he in this years draft or next year. At least we would get a Melbourne supporter.

available this year but from all reports is not expected to go until later in the draft

This is how i would like to see it.

This is probably best possible and probably unlikely.

1- Scully

2- Trengove

11- Talia/carlisle...Butcher if he slides highly doubt.

18- Carlisle/Griffiths

34- Temel maybe?

50-Andrew hooper A medium size defender some say we may need one? and larke medalist.

66- Anton woods- I recon he could be just like david rodan just being a short person my self i believe he deserves a crack.

Imagine the havoc we will wreak on the rising star award next award

Watts, Jurrah still eligible

Blease, Strauss, Scully, Trengove, pick11, pick 18

If we're going to speculate like this...

1- Scully

2- Trengove

11- Talia

18- Vardy/Carlisle/Aaron Black

34- Melksham

and that'll do us for the 2009 National Draft

Couldn't see it going down any better than this, except maybe another tall forward for pick 18 but I'd still be wrapped to get Jetta.

I think your hinting that mines not realistic.. fair enough.

I thought that would almost be best possibility for us, and the later pics i actually rate, the only problem is room on our list.

Im hoping one of cunnington, martin, stevens or rohan slides and we can take them at 11.

Then 18 use on one of the big men who is still around.

You simply cannot have too many quality mids. The way I see it theres 4 flanks, 2 wings, 3 centre square, and 2 bench possies to be shared between them.

Sylvia, Scully, Trengove, Blease, Strauss, Moloney, Jones, Grimes, Maric, Davey, Morton (who incidentally I still hope will turn into a key position), and hopefully another quality mid at pick 11, can all share these positions.

Adding one of Rivers/Garland/Frawley at CHB and Watts at CHF and you have a pretty scary half back to half forward line.

Nah, its just who I'd prefer we take based on whom I think is borderline likely to be available.

Just thought it'd be a fun little spontaneous exercise.

I think Temel won't last til pick 34.

Scully : ^_^

Trengove :D

Talia B)

Temel :)

Daw ;)

I would very much like to get hold of Ports Pick 8. Tapscott would be great to go with two KPP at Pick 11 and Pick 18!

Jurrah is not eligible, too old...i would be happy with either of talia or panos with pick 11...

dont forget, apparantly the club is looking at recruiting someone else from NT this year!

This has got me very interested

I'm wondering how it will come about. Will they:

  1. "discover someone" through Jurrah, Davey etc who may not have been going to nominate
  2. Select someone who was always going to nominate but through advice from our NT boys we make an inspired selection
  3. Will it be in the national draft or through the rookie draft?
Hoping for something exciting here

where'd you hear that? why specifically NT? Though it wouldn't be a bad thing. I know my sister taught in Lajamanu, an aboriginal community in the middle of nowhere in NT, and she said she saw some of the best footy talent she's ever seen in those places, but apparently the kids sometimes do get offers to play AFL but are too scared. Maybe with Jurrah taking that first step, we can attract another.

The Aaron Davey Scholarship that was launched a few months ago sets aside a RL spot every year for an indigenous fella from the NT.

Please tell me if I am wrong about any of the particulars, people.

Temel has kicked 2 goals in the first quarter of the TAC GF.

Jurrah wasn't too old..... until Wednesday which was his 21st birthday.... sooo let me say a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNGARRAYI!!!

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
