Mick Turner, Geelong Falcons coach was on KB's show on SEN this morning talking about G. Ablett.

Dr Turf asked him about Tom Scully. He said that he was a top player and very good in the 1st qtr last Saturday

until he was injured. Went on to rave about two of his kids namely Ben Cunnington and Gary Rohan. Said Cunnington was the toughest kid he's coached and Rohan the most exciting.

He has spoken to the dees about them and hoped that they would be picked by the one club i. e the dees as they have picks 1 & 2.

Some mixed comments on these two Big footy with many posters rating Dustin Martin the Rolls Royce player of the Draft.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if we pick to Victorians as 1 & 2. Probably Scully and one of Cunnington, Martin or Rohan.

Without trying to sound like an arrogant know it all:

Mick Turner says a lot of things and all must be taken with a grain of salt. I don't know him personally but know a few people who do. He loves pumping up the tyres of his boys. That being said they will both potentially be very good footballers.

We will definitely take Morabito or Trengove with pick 2. I have it on very good authority that this is the case unless there is a large about turn done prior to November.

And this should be in the Jordan McMahon thread mate.

Cheers

After having another look at Trengove it would be hard to go past him. The only worry (no matter how small) is the go home factor. The Dees might just pick the next best Victorian if there is not much between them.

I now have a lot more faith in the recruiting dept. If it's Scully + Trengove/Morabito that would be great.

Just thought you would be interested in the SEN interview. It certainly shows that the dees are doing there due diligence on many players.

The success of the draft to me will be the picking up a couple of gems in the 2nd, 3rd and possibly 4th rounds.

I heard the interview too. He said Melbourne had spoken to both boys, but it did seem a pump up of his own players to me. He was quick to dismiss Scully and get on to talking about his own boys.

Good coach Mick Turner but his boys are great because Mick Turner coaches them

Yep, I agree.

IMO there are some very good development players that will go in the 30's & 40's. - Dylan Grimes, James Craig, Travis Colyer, etc..

Dylan Grimes will be lucky to go rookie draft. He's not that good, if gets picked up will be purely because of his brother.

I really hate reading so many Bigfooty posts on Demonland.

Dylan Grimes has had an exceptional year for the Northern Knights and looks to have enormous talent. I have seen him play at least 10 times this year and its my belief that he will make an exceptional KPB in the AFL system.

If Melbourne's backline wasn't so promising I would hope our recruiting staff would be considering drafting him.

He will go 30-40 in the national draft IMO.

IMHO ... I like what your saying and cant disagree with you.

However, is there any chance a few clubs might just over-look him ... if he interviewed badly ... ;)

Do you know if he has any acting ability ... was thinking like on crutches or in moon boots ...

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
