Lets Celebrate Departing Demons on Sunday at the G

Although it will be sad that a number of MFC players are playing their last game for the club this Sunday as many of us as possible should get to the G and show our appreciation of the careers of Robbo Wheels and Wheater for the MFC.

Hoping the DB will "instruct" Robbo to go for some speckies and give us a final highlight or two! I am sure the younger players would relish this also.

Pretty sure Matty Whelan will be picked for Sunday and DB has said he fully deserves to get to his 150th game.

Equally hope that Paul Wheatley is also picked to play for the MFC one more time. He also deserves a farewell game and at least once more should kick out to the centre - right up the middle and have a short on the run from outside 50m.

Even if on one leg those 2 should be in the side.

All of these guys are loyal MFC players and played all their careers for the Red &Blue. They are also leaving this week in deference to the long term interests of the club.

Each of them is also a nice guy and always have had enough time to spend time with the supporters!

So we need to ensure there is a decent sized crowd on Sunday to send them off.

Thanks guys for all your efforts :D :D :D

Yeah i hope lots of dees supporters go, i dont think many will though.

Is it a twiglight game or normal 2:10 start?

Agree. They have been loyal servants of the club and deserve a good send off.

Its a 2.10 start. MFC is also offering members an upgrade to premium membership for the day if anyone is interested. Email yesterday but contact the club for details.

Good call! I'll be there to hopefully see all 3 of them go around for the last time in the red and blue, and possibly for good!

Good call Tony. Agree 110%!

Tony, I think they will all play. All the best for the 3 of them for the future.

I'm definitely going to be there, switched a double time shift so i could.

Robbo deserves a standing ovation from every Melbourne fan, he has been a fantastic servant of the club.

I'll be there w/parents. Also bringing along 4 TSCHERMAN friends - will be doing my darndest to convert them into Melbourne supporters!

Wheels!

I'll definitely be there, as always.

Though Sunday I'll sit front row near the race so I can cheer him, and Robbo, off proper.

What a rubbish day it'll be.

It is not a Rubbish day. it is he end of the old & the dawn of the new. Life is like that, & will continue to be.

I will be there. Would not miss it for the world.

Bringing 2 DEES & 3 Saints supporters as guests - more money for the club.

I'll be devastated if Wheels doesn't play.

My Saints mate is going to New Zealand ... skiing ... !?

Same sentiment though; Go Dees!! Go Wheels/Wheatley/Robbo!!

Last time I get to see Robbo in the red and blue. Wild horses couldn't keep me away.

Should be a good crowd seeing St. Kilda members get in for free on sunday. Lets all get there and make some noise on sunday, and hopefully give the saints a fright on the ground they havent played at all year.

 Off the bandwagon perhaps?

I'm sure your mate will be back for the finals.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
