DOCKERS V'S EAGLES

Featured Replies

I think Freo will be a pretty good bet against the West Coast.West Coast have a habit of manipulating things in their favour.

Didn't it seem strange in the 90's when the Eagles recruits after one summer became massive.Compare that to the MFC recruits Morton,Watts and others over the years that have taken 3 or 4 seasons to bulk up.

(WC coach a qualified chemist?)

IMO the WC would give Carlton a run for their money when it comes to manipulating the system.

They're an arrogant bunch of tossbags, and I have no idea why they are resigning Williams, they should get Hardwick or Viney in and smash that arrogance that permeates that team like a disease.

I would rather they take Hardwick. Leaving Viney at Adelaide as assistant until sometime he feels he needs a change of environment.

beating port f#cked us. end of story. Heads should roll

If you're certain that we're screwed from a PP point of view then that's the best news I've heard all week.

Scully is just about a certainty to be a Dee.

In bad news for us this week, the Pav and Sandilands will apparently be back this week to take on West Coast, while we know that Cox and Kerr are out 'indefinitely' with broken nails/chlamydia/tank flu.

Suddenly the Dockers are a real chance, although West Coast are still the better team and should win.

Wet Coke will not win another game, if they do it will only be because a team "out tanked" them.

To think that side has Premiership Players in it...Disgusts me.

Its so convoluted you'd be excused for thinking the script writers for Neighbours have a hand in all this , its that bad !!

West Coast have winnable games in Freo, Roos and Richmond..but will they ?

Freo have winnable games in West Coast Melb and Port ( at Subi they can )

We have winnable games in Freo Richmond and the Roos

Richmond canbeat us, and probably only us but the Westies might let them in.

its heart in the mouth stuff.. would be easier to just go away and come back in 6 weeks ..

Ideally westcoast beat freo and freo beat us... dont dare hold my breath though

Haselby and Tarrant both possibly missing should help the Eagles accidently get over the line.

Haselby is on the outer over there. He would be worth a look at.

Earlier this year when the shockers won 3 in a row it was Haselby who got them pumping in the middle.

I know he is injury prone, but he sure can play.

Worth a thought for 2010 if we don't get the Draft Picks we want.

I am sure you forgot to insert the emoticon to show you are not serious about us taking a 28 year old plodding midfielder?

If we don't receive the Draft picks we want in 6 weeks time, i said he is worth a look.

Our midfield at present is a joke. I watched those 3 games Earlier, particulairly the Shockers v Carltank at the Gold Coast.

For all his negatives Haselby is a Smart Footballer, which is more than we have now.

If we don't get those 2 high picks what would you suggest the club does?

Not get an injury prone, overweight 28 year old slow midfielder.

If we don't get two picks in the top 3, we will swear alot and move on.

I might cry a little...

Don't judge me.

You're judging me.

Ime with you there rpfc We shall all cry a few silent tears.

The reason i bought up Haselby is because he knows how to play the middle.

If his body is shot, fair enough WALK AWAY. But we need some real experience in the middle if we don't get the young elite.

I go Back to Pickett's First year with us. He Put some real Grunt & Fear in the middle & we Beat some Good Sides.

Yes he stayed a year too long. But if an experienced player is available on a one year contract situation.

It is well worth considering,if the Draft does not fall our way.

If we met in a dark alley way, I'd kiss you, not murder you.

You're golden. And yes, I would also cry, but refuse to be judged, y'all can f off

He's a front runner. We don't need anymore of them. That was the Daniher school. We need to build a different culture now.

Richmond would do something like that. Its called list management suicide.

WALK AWAY then...quickly. The best way to get experience in the midfield is to give the existing players game time not waste picks on age weary hacks that look good on paper. Haselby offers us nothing but a false quick fix that wont fix anything.

I go Back to Pickett's First year with us. He Put some real Grunt & Fear in the middle & we Beat some Good Sides.

And guess what he got injured toward the end of the season....again? We wasted pick 20 on that. It should be a salient lesson for you.

Er, thanks?

I didn't know those were the two options...

You must be Italian.

(That was a Sicilian mobster reference and not a racist remark about people of Italian descent)

(For those who still don't get it - Italian mobsters kiss people and kill people and that's the joke)

(Now realising - Not that funny, and were moving on...)

I think with Pick 2 in the PSD we could do a little better, and younger, than Paul Hasleby.

Don't get too worked up RR, the article about Haselby was in yesterdays paper. I didn't say do the deal. I said it was worth considering only if the draft doesn't fall our way

At present our Midfield is still a large concern going into next year.

At present our Midfield is still a large concern going into next year.

On that we agree in spades.

On that we agree in spades.

Ime Glad about that mate!!! It staggers me how bad our midfield has become. And supporters want to win cheap late season games still.

I think WC will win but it doesn't matter anyway because Melbourne will finish the year with 6 wins, We will beat Freo, Rich, NM and probably Sydney this weekend.

We wont beat sydney, north or richmond

didnt you get married at the start of the year if i recall,or maybe iv been eating to much FRUIT and its gone to my brain.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
