Demon supporters holding up HSBC signs?

This happened before half-time, all over the ground. Why do our supporters think they will win a prize holding up the opposition sponsor's sign? Why would a hawthorn sponsor choose a demon supporter to win whatever prize is on offer? Why do we need to fund the Hawthorn revenue stream?

We should all stand on our seats and block the view of the desperate banner (edit: word deleted by me)

I wondered where all those Bloody sign all of a sudden appeared.

Hawthorn look like a bag of Twisties running around the Field. Putrid colours they are!

I'd hold one up for $5,000

I might even donate half to the MFC if I win...

having said that, i wasn't waving one of those signs around like a tool on Sunday...

That's the point - holding one up WONT get you 5000. It just makes you look stupid.

Demon Rob, you can say that again!

Reminded of that horrid idea we had against the Pies, hold up your team's colours to see how many fans were there. The crowd was pretty similar to the Essendon game last year, 75-80% opposition

Might appear dam stupid to some ... However, what a great idea for the sponsor.

Its such a good promotion it even gets coverage on the oppositions website .... yah just another marketing gimmick that wont work some would say.

Bunch of Monkeys as far as I'm concerned. Good to see the Dorks fans near the players race were more interested in a 1:25,000 shot at $500 than applauding their team off at half time. Looked like they could have used a fluffer after the first half as well.

It's disappointing to hear our fans holding them up, but we need to start up something like this with Hankook or Kaspersky. I've mentioned it in another thread, it might just get a few more Dees along to the games.

It also helps get bums on seats.

How many extra supporters do you think would come to a game if they had a chance to win $5k, Or would the money be better donated to the club?

You honestly think that there are people out there who went to the football because they have a about a one in 10-20,000 chance of winning $5,000?

If it was a melbourne home game, and our sponsors were offering that..it would be pretty good odds!!!

As strange as it sounds, all these things help.

Just to demonstrate....

General Ticket: $20 of which we get say 10%, = $2/head, so 2500 band wagon supporters required to break even.

You might be onto something, but it would need to be done early in the season in conjunction with a membership drive, i.e., Hold up <sponser sign> + your membership to win.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
