My I/C would be, Johnson, Jones, Morton and Cheney.

The two WA boys can have a spell together. Cheney deserves another crack and his hard nose,no frills style will suit against the Cats.

Robbo and Maric are in! Welcome back Robbo.

I'm a bit worried about the interchange(from) though.

Johnson will have to play as Spencer isn't named. Morton and Jones are certainties.

Bennell will probably be the fourth but I don't want Jetta to miss out.

Now everybody remember....the new Saviour Maric is upon us and he is only nineteen with a few games of AFL under his belt, I can't wait for the posts on Sunday and Monday if he doesn't kick ten goals, make 16 tackles, have 40 disposals, and takes over from Cam Bruce with a the quickie with Jennifer Hawkins in the centre square at half time..like the rest of the team we are watching slowly improve....give him time.........

Thank you Neville Jetta's Mum aka the Bearded Muppet

The whispers of McNamara coming in..........that fell on its head!!

Jetta and Newton most likely out. If Cheney plays it could be one of Bartram, Morton or even Jones left out of the side on Sunday. Bennell IMO should play, he played ok last week.

Agree.

Also great to see Robbo back!

And how funny do the team sheets DB submits look!?? Obviously I know they don't line up that way, but every week i get a little kick out of how he's gonna line them up on paper next.

Beamer in the BP, Rivers wing, Dunn CHF, Petterd in the guts, Sylvia FF with the taller Miller and Bate in the pockets?? I love how he does it... it's like he's taking the [censored]! Brilliant.

My IC: PJ, Jones, Bennell, Morton

That would effectively mean:

OUT: Jetta, Newton

IN: Robbo, Maric

Very happy to see Maric not on extended bench, I assume this means he will play???

Welcome back to Robbo also

Well Jones and Morton are certainties you would think. Johnson also as there's no Spencer named.

So that leaves it out of Jetta, Bennell, Newton and Cheney for the last spot.

I'll go with Cheney. Give Jet and Benny a run in the 2's.

And forget you ever heard of Michael Newton. No chance to come off the bench.

Thank you High Tower didn't take you long to have Jetta out, I am surprised......I don't miss YM and his Bruce bashing at all......

Haha yeah couldn't agree further, it's something crazy every week!

For mine Newton and Jetta out, Jetta - it would be nice for him to play but we can only have 22 each week and Maric must play at this stage. Cheney isn't deserving of another crack ahead of Bennell either, so hopefully it's just Newton and Jetta out.

Thank you High Tower didn't take you long to have Jetta out, I am surprised......I don't miss YM and his Bruce bashing at all......

Just doing the sums petjud. Maric is in. Looks like he will play.

Nothing against Jetta. He's played a handful of games after Round 5. Not bad for a 4th round pick in his 1st year. Maric deserves a go.

Yeah, love it here too.

I think as the team begins to perform better over the upcoming years and people begin to take notice, DB's weekly 'lineups' will be a source of amusement for many in the media.

Right now however, for all they know, he could be serious.

Nothing against the Jett he just looked so out of gas relatively early last week, think he needs to have a couple in the ressies. As have said before Bails usually has players go through 4 or 5 games before sending them to back to the 2's to develop what he suggests.

Newts has to stay, no matter his last few performances he is trying and as long as he gives he should stay in to see if he can improve at the highest level.

Morts needs to improve on his performances so far even though he is young and slight his skills have not been great so far.

Michael Newton, Cale Morton, Bennell, Nathan Jones.

INS: MARIC,ROBERTSON, CHENEY

OUTS: JOHNSON, NEWTON, JETTA

We have 4 tall backs and they more than likely will only have 2 tall forwards. Frawley will probably play small on S.Johnson, Warnock will probably take Mooney leaving either Rivers or Martin to take Hawkins then the other won't have a match up so surely Rivers should take Hawkins leaving Martin as the second ruck which means we can now drop the terribly out of form Johnson. No need for Newton now we have Robbo back. Morton will be lucky to keep his spot Jetta's poor disposal will probably get him over the line. Bate is very lucky to be in the starting 18 he must start performing.

Surely Morton will not get dropped? He would only get dropped if he is feeling the strain and needs a rest.

Jetta and Newton out robbo and maric in.

Great to see Maric in. Interchange should be Johnson, Bennell, Morton, Jones

Spot on.

The bench pretty much picks itself.

Bennell has been superb since debut and deserves to play again.

Cheney unlucky, Newton fully deserving of a rightful return to Casey, and PJ very VERY lucky that Spencer is injured/raw

I/C (from): Neville Jetta, Paul Johnson, Jamie Bennell, Michael Newton, Cale Morton, Kyle Cheney, Nathan Jones

Will be :Johnson (Meesen cant ruck all day)

Bennell (Has not put a foot wrong, plus Moloney will not start in the back pocket, i bet he has a crack at ablett)

Jones (getting better, may take on chapman)

Morton ( needs a good game with clean positions, plays similar to Travis in his early days or may get a rest soon.)

Cheney will be unlucky again. The problem is he is not getting any game time, as Casey plays at the same time.

Robertssssooon:D

and maric finally i get to see this kid play at afl level!

Great to see Maric get another crack.... The kid is a brilliant talent and I would love to see him cement his spot in the side with some aggressive tackling and a couple of goals.....

Also to see Jones on Chapman would be pretty amusing.... Could almost pass as twins! Except Chappy has a few more wrinkles!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
