Casey Scorpions at Frankston

The word is Jack Watts could be lining up for the Casey Seniors this week.

Has anybody heard this?

Does this mean we might see him in the red and blue sooner than expected?

The question was raised think with DB last week before the game and he still suggested it will be post mid season but he is pushing hard for selection or something to that effect. But it does sound like he is getting close.

After seeing him play last week he should definately play Casey seniors this week.

But im not sure if he will play any AFL footy until about June, so round 11 plus....

he'll certainly cop it from the mob on the hill at Frankston...they make Collingwood supporters look educated

QBD against Collingwood may drag an extra 10,000 through the gates and shut those up at AFL House who have been questioning our right to the game recently.

I would not be surprised if he was selected for that game.

DB " yeah we wanted to give him a taste of the big league

Reporter: " will you be driving your Volvo to the game or riding the scummy train system"

DB: " Volvo. i want to get to the game on time"

Where's the Jurrah? One minute he's gonna line up for the Dees and the next he's not lining up at all.

Jurrah was going to line up with MFC this week was he??:lol:

I don't think any of us had any faith in the rumour started by the big-noting Alice Springs bus driver but we did think he may be able to show us a little more in the Reserves.

Then why parrot it as if were fact.

Could Jurrah be injured/ill?

Getting a bit annoyed at being kept in the dark with injuries to Bail, Strauss and now Jurrah.

Could Jurrah be injured/ill?

they could be resting him 4 a week or two as he may have some general muscle soreness from adjusting 2 the caper of VFL footy

My original post suggested that Jurrah's status had gone from chocolates to boiled lollies, nothing more.

Certainly the lad may have become sick or sustained an injury. I was hoping for some knowledge.

Yeah very well could, I hope he has an impact straight away if he does play for us this year. Nothing worse than Jack Watts pulling a shocker in first up. I`m sure he`ll be fine.

CARN DEES

Getting a bit annoyed at being kept in the dark with injuries to Bail, Strauss and now Jurrah.

Fair point.

they could be resting him 4 a week or two as he may have some general muscle soreness from adjusting 2 the caper of VFL footy

That would seem a more logical assessment than suggested elsewhere

Jurrah is probably just having a week off. Saw him at the junction on Tuesday from quite a distance, nothing seemed to be wrong. Compared to Davey and Wonnaeamirri he's incredibly tall.

No appearance this week from Sam Blease. Hopefully, next week. Will try to find out what's happening with Liam Jurrah, perhaps Rude Boy can help?

Also next week's game against Coburg at Coburg is the televised game on ABC.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
