As the start of the 2009 season approaches, I thought this is worth another look.

I still tear up every time I see this.

those were the days..... not far away in the future !!!!!

I just got that warm Tingly Feeling inside watching that. Sitting there with my Dad at the end of the match waiting to find out who our opponent would be! Go Demons. Miss Peter Walsh, He wasn't Flashy but he had Guts.

Great memories.

Unfortunately Green has shown in the 9 years since that at best he can pinch hit up forward from time to time but cannot cut it full time up there. He's been a great servant to the Club and has adapted his game to the tough demands of the contest.

That was nice. Bruce and Green dominated those highlights. Nice memories for sure and I hope like you all do that we see games like that with the latest batch of youngsters in the coming years.

Neale Daniher made a decision circa 2002/3 that Green was too talented to play simply as a forward and turned him into a midfielder who had occasional stints up forward.

I'm not all that sure that Green's days as a forward are over. As our young midfield talent develops he might find himself there as a third forward - he's definitely capable of kicking goals.

I think Brad Green will play forward a lot this year. He is a beautiful accurate kick when he connects sweetly, He wants to play in September again & why not. The more goals he kicks the better the chance. Big year for Brad i predict.

The thing I really liked about that clip was his attack on the footy in a contested marking situation. As a short, playing "tall" in the forward line, I think he can do more than pinch hit and he is perhaps our most accurate kick. If Beamer, Bucks and Jones can stand up this year, not to mention Chook, I think that he can run forward of the ball and be a damaging forward.

Such an attack on the footy is innate and is not lost just like that.

Greeny is one of my fsvourites in terms of "grunt'.

I was there! Brings back great memories.

If only we could have some experiences like that all over again!

Up there with our finals win over Carlton in 1994 and our win against the Eagles at Subi in 98. Great moments in our history.

Great day that one. I'll be happy to see Green leading the way when-ever and where-ever needed. Reckon he'll relish it.

nothing better then a win over that mob!

Did anyone else think that we out numbered them at the game that day? Where did all these "loyal" supporters go?

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
